It’s not my personal backyard, so your pup gets the true “private dog park” experience without ever needing to pass behind my home. Hi, I’m Emily! I live in Clayton with my three Dobermans Loki, Apollo, and Astraea plus one very loved kitty cat. I’m a former veterinary technician from Cary, and my love for animals runs deep (basically, if it has fur, feathers, or paws, I’m smitten). I created this Sniff Spot with one goal in mind: to give local pups a safe, fun place to run, play, and enrich their lives. My yard is unique because it’s on my property but completely separate from my own backyard so you get that private dog park feel without feeling like you’re stepping into someone’s personal space. I hope you enjoy the quiet, welcoming atmosphere here, and that both you and your pup feel right at home from the moment you arrive. 🐕💖

Our home is situated on a very private and beautiful (0.7 acre) lot which is largely surrounded by woods. The fully fenced backyard (0.3 acre) has plenty of room to run and also some interesting areas to sniff and explore. My family moved to Raleigh in 2022 and our first priority was to install a backyard fence for our 2 dogs (Ginger, staffordshire terrier and Cici, pit/lab mix). Sadly, in 2025 both senior dogs crossed the rainbow bridge. Lately our big empty backyard has been a painful reminder of that loss, so it truly brings me joy to have the privilege to open our space for other dogs. They deserve it!

Additionally, in the back, there is a little private walking trail about 0.2acre of trail not fenced in that you are welcome to walk thru). Doggie cot on back patio to relax a minute and feel free to enjoy the shaded back deck. We are in a very quiet neighborhood, and the backyard provides a peaceful feel. We do have a 42lb black lab mix that would stay with me inside during your stay (my office is upstairs and would be fully away from contact during your visit, (unless 1:1 dog interaction is desired- please just specify preference). I frequently take my Phoenix to the dog parks and he is very dog friendly.
