This yard is awesome! An oasis from the city with lots of seating. It’s fully covered in greenery and makes you feel like you’re not in a city! The street wasn’t busy either, so I imagine this would be a great spot for a smaller city dog who needed a yard without outside human/dog distractions. We didn’t see the box of supplies/toys until the end, so don’t miss it! My dog enjoyed sniffing under the deck :)

I brought two puppies with me to Jake's place. He had really good instructions. Parking ended up being incredibly easy (it's mostly parallel, but I found a spot right in front of his house that I didn't need to parallel park into). The yard is small, but perfect for what I needed which was to let the dogs romp around and play. You couldn't really do a far game of fetch here though. He provided two water bowls for the dogs which was great since I forgot. I would definitely come back again for a doggy playdate or something.

The space was terrific. If anything, I felt bad because my dog was a bit of a grazer and kept trying to explore underneath the deck. But all the amenities were great and the space was large enough for my dog to get some good sprints and zoomies out. Will definitely come back!

Great private space, lovely set up to let my dog explore and sniff, for us to practice recall, and to let him (and me!) just be relaxed in new spaces off leash without me fearing or him facing a random dog suddenly going after him (which was too many times at the dog park now to keep going, as he next defends himself). I will be back to this space! Appreciate the host Jake was responsive, there was comfortable seating, easy entry, and fresh water, varied landscape, visual privacy, secure space. Thank you!

Perfect little spot for us to stop and tire out our big dog! Our dog noticed the neighbor dog’s snout poking through the fence behind some plants, and got scared and barked, but the neighbor dog was so chill they didn’t even respond! Just kept their snout there and my dog learned to ignore it.

Langston enjoyed the space. Fence is solid, back yard has shade and even if he mostly chilled I think he had a great time. We will be back.

Love this spot! It’s a bit small, but the cap hill location can’t be beat. My dog loved it! However, fair warning that the neighbor dog does try to say hello — but he quickly moves on if your dog isn’t interested. Just be mindful of your pup is very reactive!

Are dog parks good for dogs?

It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.

Are dog parks safe?

While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks.
