Sometimes

Our property includes horses that are visible from certain points along the trails. They are contained behind single-wire fencing and are accustomed to both people and dogs. However, the horses are naturally curious and may come closer to the fence to investigate. While they pose no risk themselves, the potential hazard depends on the excitability of visiting dogs. We recommend keeping dogs on a leash near the horse pastures if you feel they might react to the horses’ presence.

Description

Welcome to Pawplar Trails, a serene 40+ acre retreat with winding paths through poplar trees. Along the trails, you’ll find spots bordering horse pastures, offering tranquil views of grazing horses. If you’re lucky, you might spot deer or a prairie chicken, and with a keen eye, discover an owl’s nest. On rare and magical occasions, you may witness the owl gliding silently through the trees, a breathtaking reminder of nature’s calm beauty. IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD

Hazards

The first part of Pawplar Trails runs alongside a gravel road, separated by a ditch. This section is not fenced, so we recommend keeping dogs on a leash for their safety. Once the trail veers away from the road and into the trees, dogs are welcome to be off-leash if you trust them to stay nearby. Please also note: • the trail ends at our horse pasture and is separated there by single wire fencing. While the fencing is safe for the horses, it does not prevent dogs from passing through. Having your dog on leash is recommended here. • The horses are naturally curious and may approach the fencing to investigate, which could make some dogs nervous. However, the horses are calm and accustomed to people and dogs. • Uneven terrain or exposed roots along the trails may pose a tripping hazard, so sturdy footwear is advised. • Wildlife such as deer, prairie chickens, or owls may be present, which could excite or distract dogs.
