Description

🌲 Welcome to our little ¼ acre field in Port Townsend! It’s a quiet, tucked-away space surrounded by trees where your pup can sniff, play, and stretch their legs. You may even find a blackberry vine you’re welcome to pick from when it’s in season. We recently inherited this home, and offering our field as a Sniffspot is something new we’re trying. It’s simple for now, but we’ll keep improving as time goes on — we’d love a chance to host you and hope you’ll come back again soon! 💛 Our family (including a sweet Golden Retriever and two toddlers) lives nearby, but we’ll stay inside unless you’d like to say hello.

Hazards

HOST NOTE

• No fencing: The field is open, with trees and bushes serving as a natural barrier. Best for dogs with good recall. • Blackberry vines: Some around the edges of the field have thorns. • Uneven ground: There are natural dips, roots, and holes — please watch your step. • Wildlife: Squirrels, deer, and birds are common visitors and may distract pups. • Nearby activity: You may occasionally see someone walking or biking through the trees. • Seasonal mud: The field can get muddy in rainy months. • Driveway caution: When leaving, there’s a large rock placed to protect a hose spigot, please drive carefully to avoid bumping it.

👋 Hi, I’m Shelby! I live in Port Townsend with my husband, our two kids, and our sweet Golden Retriever. We recently inherited this home, and creating a Sniffspot here is something new and exciting for us. I love the idea of giving dogs a safe, peaceful place to run, sniff, and just be dogs and I’d be so happy to share our little field with you and your pup. 💛

This was a horse pasture, but horse no more. There are a few elevation changes and plenty of river rocks that you are welcome to! Grass is mowed. Ignore the electric fence (it is off). 2/3rd of an acre with one shade tree, and a couple of chairs. Bring your own: doggie bags, toys and water just in case (we do have a bowl for your dog).

Pig Beach (near Port Ludlow)

Fully Fenced
0.63 acres

A .63 acre dog sanctuary for you and your pup. The yard is well maintained with dog friendly grass and has incredible views of the Hood Canal and Puget Sound. If you're interested, there is private beach access for you and your pup to explore miles of beach (public but almost always empty). There are numerous dog toys available and a massive 6+ person, dog friendly couch (late Spring to early Fall) you can relax on and watch the canal when you need a break! Regarding the beach, there are approximately 50 steps which you will need to climb up and down to access the beach so please wear proper footwear. As this is on the Hood Canal and not a lake or a pond, tides impact the size of the beach. If you are hoping to walk endless miles of beach, the tide will need to be at 2ft or below. Anything under 4ft will give you a massive area (probably 1/2 mile or more) and almost guaranteed private area as only people with stairs can access the beach at this tide level. Though the beach is open at any point, I think the maximum height you would probably want to go is about 6.5ft. This still gives you and your dog a decent sized area to play in (approximately 500ft by 30ft or 1/2 acre). Photos 16 and 17 show the beach at 6.25ft with a very large sandy area for you and your pup to play in. Anything above 6.5 ft is not recommended as the beach just gets thinner and thinner, but you're able to try if you want. (no refunds given if you don't like what you find). You are responsible for checking out the tides before you go. Legally, I can't recommend any specific source for you to use, but you might find good information Googling "tide chart port ludlow". Regarding ADA Accessibility, my property is on a gently sloping hill. To access it, there are 2 very wide concrete steps to get to the grass. This would be doable for someone on crutches and probably ok for a regular wheelchair if you had a second person to help lower you to each step and pull you up. It's definitely not accessible to a motorized wheelchair. Sorry. Note - restroom is only available if I'm home, otherwise there is one approximately 2 miles northwest at the gas station in Port Ludlow

Lake Cavanaugh K9 Ranch

Unfenced
22 acres

22 forested acres with private trails and an open field area located in the power line clearing. Includes private land access to state forest trails with views. Once you park you will see the trail entrance into the forest in front of you. Take the trail down to the creek. Water levels in the creek vary depending on the time of year. Cross the creek using the foot bridge and head through the forest. In about .3 miles you will come out into the powering line clearing. Feel free to explore everything in front of you and to the left (north). There are several wide open grass spaces in the power line to play fetch or just let the dogs run and be dogs. I will send you detailed instructions for the hike up the mountain upon request. This is a real hike and I recommend hiking attire. Please bring water for yourself and your dogs. The hike is about 3.5 miles and 800 feet of elevation gain. I recommend booking at least 2 hours to complete. If you want to hang out and enjoy the views you may want to book more than 2 hours.

10 Acres of Wooded Trails on Private Dog Park In Mt. Vernon

Partially Fenced
10 acres

Our property requires a walk up a hill to access once you have parked. Once you reach the top you have just over 10 acres to explore on old forest roads and trails. We have very thick brush on the south, went and north sides of the property and the east side is fenced in. We live about 5 miles from I5 with an upper property behind our home full of old forest roads, some trails, trees, and plenty of room to roam around off-leash or on. There is a lot of wildlife around the area and that lives and sleeps in our property to lots to sniff but be aware for off leash recall if a bunny or deer passes by.

Summer 2025: Does your pup love *gently used* toys? Until we run out, there’s a bag full of freebies for visitors to take home - please limit to one per pup per visit! Check out this fully-fenced third of an acre backyard with a variety of grass, dirt, and weeds hanging out, at the moment. Lots of room for your pups to run, play fetch and roll around. There’s a spigot and a dog bowl for your pups to use as needed, and poop bags and a trash bin for your convenience. Please pick up poop before you head home for the day. ❤️ Please park on the grassy curb off of 126th and walk your pups (on leash) east on 126th to the chain link fence gate by the big cedar tree! That’s the easiest entry point. 👍 🚌 School is back in session, and there’s a school bus stop on the other side of my fence. If your pup is people reactive, avoid the 7-8:30am and 2-4pm hours on weekdays! 🚌 Tag us in your photos if you post them to Instagram: @dougsdogpark

Tiffany's 3 Acre Fully Fenced Private Dog Park In Arlington

Welcome to our trail! This is a wooded path, mostly flat, with a couple of gentle rolling hills. Parking: On arrival, pull into the driveway and please park directly to your right in the grass. You will see a “guest parking sign” as well as an entrance sign and post with dog bags. Navigating the trail: On arrival, Keep your dog leashed unless they have perfect recall. Walk past the entrance sign and once you go through the first gate, you can let the pups off leash to run free. The main trail is maintained, follow it around the property, and come to the very end where you will find a gate with an “Exit” sign. Please leash back up at this point until you reach your car. (You may also come across gates that say “do not enter”… please don’t open these, you will no longer be fenced in.) You’re welcome to access the little seasonal creek but it is outside the fence line. Please shut that gate when you’re done using it. During the rainy months the trail can get muddy, we recommend boots for you and a towel for your dogs. In the spring and summer you will find wildflowers, and maybe even some berries! (Always only eat fruit you are 100% sure you can identify) Our dogs: We have 4 dogs that live here. They won’t have access to the area, but you might hear them bark when you arrive.
