55So mossy and lovely! Will definitely be returning
55This Sniffspot is becoming one of our favorite ones! It's not too far away from us and there are lots of trails for my dogs to explore! I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good spot close to Seattle.
45Our dog had a great time playing in the creek, scrambling up and down the creek bank, running over the bridges and exploring the woods, and going back and forth through the sneaky culvert! However, she kept running up toward the road, and although she came back every time we called, we were nervous about her getting close to the cars. So, unfortunately, this Sniffspot is just not a good match for us.
55What a cool little spot! We loved all the trails, access to the creek, and playground area.
55Lots of places to explore and sniff.
55This place is wild! There’s trails of course but it feels like an exploratory journey. The creek is not super full up yet but there is flowing water so the dogs are covered there. The trails are lovely, can be a little confusing with all the leaves on the ground but over all pretty straight forward. There is some incline to be aware of if your mobility is not great, and I’d def recommend waterproof good grip boots during muddy season. The dogs loved it, I loved the opportunity to commune with nature in a safe environment. One thing I will note - the entrance is decently close to the road, I would be super certain of your dogs recall and boundary acknowledgment. Thankfully the road isn’t too busy but just in case.
55This is a very special place! The trails are very well kept, with lots of fresh mulch to keep it from being too muddy. Our dog had so much fun exploring, and even made it up and down the play equipment! We will definitely be back.
55Fun in the woods, lots of trails to explore
55The trails were so much fun and my girls had a blast running around in the little stream.
55This place is super cute!

Description

Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot is a large mystical woodland adventure for dogs in Redmond on the way to Carnation. Boots are recommended in the winter rain. MMF is preferred by puppies, dogs, people, adults and kids alike because it has potable water, power, picnic tables, chairs, several firepits, lit portapotties, 3 swing sets, 3 slides, monkey bars, 3 Forts, a log bridge to cross over Little Ames Creek for when the creek is flowing, a doggy playground, lots of picturesque moss, lighted parking lot, woodchip trails and many footpaths over 5 forested moss covered acres. Parking is near the road, separated by 50 ft of woods, so we suggest that all our doggy friends be leashed until they are on the trails with you. Please leash your dog until into the forest away from the parking area, after that Bob's Your Uncle! Watch kids and dogs in the parking area near the road, and at Ames Creek. A secluded place to dork out and have fun, enjoying a natural Pacific rainforest. Note that the creek is dry in midsummer until the fall and winter rains kick in. Boots are recommended in the fall and winter. Find a map of the main trails in a photo on our MMF Sniffspot site. There are lots of foot trails through the understory ferns. The log bridge can be used to cross Ames Creek, or you can ford it to discover the rest of Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot. Please pack out doggy bags with you because there is no garbage pickup here, please leave no trace. If there is a downpour and you want to wait it out there is a dry shed in the parking area. Access to power helps keep your batteries charged. Please carry your toilet paper (sorry it walks away). The portapotties are cleaned once a week. Please visit our Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61555379018442 Let us know if you have any questions. Synchronized play bowing to you!

Hazards

Separated by bushes and trees, the road is 50 ft from the parking lot, so we recommend leashing your dog until you are on the trails, or doggo becomes used to the location, and heads for the secluded forest trails right away. There is a log bridge to cross the creek when it may get as much as 6 inches deep in the winter. A great off-leash park full of fun exploring please wear boots!

I was born in Washington State. We have dogs, and we thought we'd offer our property to explore a new place with all kinds of wonderful things that dogs love. We installed a playset that has a ramp and stairs that dogs hop right up to hang out in and get pets and maybe a little treat! We also have a small creek running through the forest, that is usually shallow and slow moving - the perfect size for dogs. Right after a big rain it can get up to a foot deep. We have found dogs just love the log bridge and will run back and forth on it. There's lots of chairs, fire pits, picnic tables. If you get caught out in the rain we supplied a shelter that is dry so you can wait it out. We update our Sniffspot as much as possible. For example, we just laid down fresh wood chips this week. Enjoy!
