Description

Welcome to the Stratford Animal Shelter SniffSpot—a fully fenced, 2,500 sq. ft. secure play area featuring an 8-foot chain-link fence for maximum safety and peace of mind. The entire surface is concrete, making it ideal for dogs who love to run, play ball, or enjoy a clean and mud-free environment. A pooper scooper and trash bin are provided for easy cleanup. Please note: no water source is available, so plan to bring your own. This SniffSpot is located directly at the Stratford Animal Shelter and is surrounded by the beautiful STARS Garden, a certified pollinator pathway and Monarch Waystation filled with native plants and buzzing wildlife. You may hear shelter dogs barking during your visit—thank you for understanding and supporting a space that directly helps animals in need. Your pup will have plenty to enjoy with available agility equipment, a trampoline, and a variety of dog toys for enrichment, exercise, and play. All SniffSpot fees go directly toward supporting the shelter animals, helping provide medical care, food, enrichment, and the essentials they need while waiting for their forever homes. By choosing this SniffSpot, you’re giving your dog a safe, stimulating place to explore while making a meaningful difference for the animals at Stratford Animal Rescue Society (STARS). All proceeds from this space directly support Stratford Animal Rescue Society (STARS) and the animals in our care. STARS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless pets in Stratford, Connecticut find loving forever homes. Since 2000, STARS has partnered with Stratford Animal Control to provide food, medical care, enrichment, and essential services—such as vaccines, spay/neuter, microchipping, training, and plenty of love—to every impounded animal. Our work is funded entirely through donations, grants, and community support. By visiting this SniffSpot, you’re giving your dog a fun and safe place to play and helping shelter animals receive the care they need to thrive. FYI- The pool is now closed and expected to reopen Memorial Day weekend. Fully fenced, secure and private acre of doggy heaven located on a cul de sac. Large grass yard, mulch, and wooded area on each side of the yard will keep your dog busy sniffing and exploring. The ground is cleared in the wooded areas for fun running and walks. Large blue stone shaded patio that backs up to woods. The large in ground pool is uncovered and ready to swim for an additional charge (see below”Extras”). The fencing between the yard and pool is not 100% secure, just keep an eye on your pups. All people and pets will be inside during your visit for privacy. There are poop bags, a bowl of water and a basket of toys for you and your pup if you wish. Whether you want to sit in the shade or play in the sun, there are multiple seating areas. Driveway and Street parking with easy access to the spot.

(Please note:dog pools are closed from mid October thru mid April). Please do not enter the human swimming pool area. Sniffspot is to the right. We do not have lighting in the spot so please adjust your visits to the seasonal daylight hours.
