HOST REPORTS

Our dog will be secured inside the house and kept away from windows and doors. If your dog comes up on either of our house decks, our dog might bark. I work from home so I’m home about 90% of the time and keep our house dog from the doors and windows. Some other dogs on neighboring farms can be heard on some occasions. Our neighbor to the West of us has dogs and she tries to keep them from from going to the fence to respect our guest dogs when here. Each parcel in our rural area is 2-5 acres so some dogs might also be heard in the far distance also. PLEASE DON’T MARK HAVING OUR INSIDE DOG AS A DISTRACTION UNLESS YOU TRULY CAN SEE/HEAR HIM

Our free ranging chickens can be seen/heard but will be secured inside their coop enclosure when guests are present. The chicken house/enclosure is 50 feet away from the enclosed zoomie pen so they’re likely to be heard or seen. We have visual barrier along 1/2 of the chickens enclosure. I look at this as an opportunity to practice my “leave-it” ques with our dogs! If the chickens are an issue when going from the zoomie pen to the field and back woods, leash dogs when passing if you believe they will have an issue. We can also secure them inside their house area if you would prefer. ————————————————————- our chickens free range the entire property, so we sometimes miss a poop here or there! ——————————————————————— We have horses in the front West pasture that can be seen but don’t usually come to the fence unless they are called over. There are Llamas and cows in the neighboring pasture behind us when in the backwoods, that are sometimes visible from some parts of the fence. We have a privacy barrier up where they can be seen between the shrubs.

Description

Centrally located in the Summit area nestled between Tacoma and Puyallup. We’re just minutes between the I-5 and 512. At Summit Ridge Canine Retreat, a premium spot, there’s something to satisfy your dog’s need to stimulate their natural curiosity and bring them home tired…the humans too! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 Included in your booking, you and your pup(s) will have all three different areas to engage their noses in different sensory experiences while on our 3 acre fully fenced property. Whether it’s our indoor arena, the ‘Dog Den’ is suitable for small to medium sized dogs to play. The indoor arena is heated, during the cold rainy season and also air conditioned during the hot summer months. The indoor ‘Dog Den’ is also great for having a Birthday or Gotcha “Pawty”. The Dog Den can be fully enclosed for those rainy days or stay cool in summer with the A/C on. The slider will open into the fully fenced 1/4 acre grass dog Zoomy Pen🐶 The fully enclosed grass ‘Zoomie Pen’ is perfect for zoomie time, puppies and dogs in training, some toy fun, playdates, or for dogs without good recall. We have lights in the indoor and around the Zoomie Pen for the dark autumn and winter evening nights available to book in our other spot listing- Summit Ridge After Dark Just outside the Zoomy Pen is our large play field giving lots of room for Chuckit tossing☄️parkour on the logs, relaxing on the lounge chair under the trees, a firepit for s’mores fun, or some nose work fun for mind stimulation and enrichment. The large playfield connects to the backwoods🌲so 🐾Venture out to the 1.5 acre wooded area providing a cool shaded area of trails for more sniffing, wildlife spotting and occasional llamas and cows from the neighboring back pasture🦙 There is a private outdoor toilet for guest use next to the indoor ‘Dog Den’. We have a rinse off station with warm water, shampoo spray and towels. Look for it on the driveway side of the house 🐕🚿 (not available during freezing weather) ————————————————————— For an even greater experience, we offer some add ons that are sure to enhance your dog’s enrichment (hoomans too) and go home tired from all the fun! —————————————————————— Like and follow us on Instagram and Facebook for last minute openings, discounts and more! ———————————————————————- We’re usually closed on Tuesday and Wednesday for maintenance ——————————————————————- **New guests use promo code SUMMITNEW for $5 off your first visit.**

Hazards

HOST NOTE

During the rainy season, best to wear good traction boots 🥾 The field and meadow have dips and slight incline. If you have mobility issues, message us for for parking 🅿️ assistance to the back of our shop that’s closer to the mid-field for sitting and best viewing of your dog(s). When in the far meadow and backwoods, watch your footing in the grassy area due to mole mounds and dips in the field. We don’t mow the back field as often so the grass is longer in some areas. In the rainy season there’s a potential for a mud bog between the meadow and the wooded area because we’re next to a watershed. There’s a potential for tripping on ivy vines in some of the trails that don’t have wood chips but we have cleared away the majority of them. We’re laying down wood chips in all of the trails as they become available. On gusty winds days there is a potential for downed tree limbs so best to stay in the open mid-field or in the Zoomie Pen area where it’s most open. We work on the backwoods area whenever possible to make improvements and clear up more walking trails. **Closed shoes or hikers are strongly advised.** We have a small decorative natural pond in the front yard which is enticing for water dogs and puppies. It’s not deep but if your dog goes in, chances are they’ll need a bath afterwards! Because of this, it’s a good reason to leash your dog(s) when crossing the front yard area and when walking to/from your vehicle. This spot has a water feature, make sure to review these guidelines for visiting spots with water before visiting: https://help.sniffspot.com/article/167-how-to-keep-your-dog-safe-around-pools-and-water

Little Red Bench Private Dog Park In Tacoma

Fully Fenced
1 acre

This spot is a 1/2 acre rough pasture with a bench, fruit trees, a tree swing and woods surrounded by greenbelt. It is fully fenced and gated although if your dog is small and escape-minded it may do so because it is wire field fence, not board fence. Please park in front of the garage and keep your dog leashed until you reach the pasture area at the back of the property. Enjoy! We are excited to be partnering with Mossy Paws Dog Training to offer training sessions here at the spot or at your home. Jen is a positive reinforcement trainer who specializes in behavioral issues, anxiety, reactivity, raising great puppies/dogs, life skills, manners, and more! Her focus is to streamline communication and improve relationships with dogs and their people so that training becomes an easy part of your day-to-day life. Jen is considering offering reactivity classes and puppy/teen socialization here at the spot. Wonderlane

Fully Fenced
2 acres

Enjoy an enchanting Pacific Northwest rainforest adventure at Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot for Dogs and Their Best Friends - Bring your friends and their dogs too! Unleash your dogs and frolic with your beloved friends in the lush embrace of our hilly Pacific Northwest natural rainforest. Wonderlane invites you and your best pals to explore 67 years of history across 2 acres of established trails, over 9 terraces, under towering old-growth trees, listening to the gentle murmur of a clear creek, accessible by your choice of 2 gates. For security we require the Entrance Gate to be closed behind you. From the parking area choose your path— the left or right trailhead gates —and meander down Flying Horse Lane or Tail Waggin' Lane to The Landing Pad, where trails weave into playful circles perfect for a game of ‘Hide and Go Seek’ or a chase! At the forest edge, Madhatter Lane invites you to a serene creek, a secret haven at our fully fenced sanctuary. For environmental reasons, the creek area is not fenced, therefore bring a leash for your dog(s) when going into that area. Our hilly forested land, a tapestry of guardrails, fences, gates, natural barriers, rolling trails, springs and creeks, sometimes steep, sometimes flat, is a haven for play. There is a 100-foot-long Stick Library! These trails, originally created for horses, have been lovingly reclaimed from invasive brush and dead trees, now fun for paws and feet alike. We’ve ensured the future of this tranquil forest by planting more than 600 local tree saplings. The canopy of Hemlock, Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, Yew, BigLeaf Maple, and Alder, filled out as soon as there was more light. These trails whisper stories of the past. In the spring flowering bushes bloom from March through early June, in the summer lush frilly leaves decorate every breeze with greenery in motion, and in the fall in October the leaves magically turn yellow, orange, red, brown, and purple. Wonderlane is more than a place; it’s an experience—a Sniffspot designed with your dog’s joy in mind. While they dash through wood chips and Pacific Northwest duff, under ferns, and around bends, you’ll enjoy the views of a 20-acre forested wetland, a living vista of nature, and plenty of chairs to sit in. This forest is alive with the songs of songbirds - sparrows, finches, thrushes, grosbeaks, and a host of other birds, such as majestic American Bald Eagles are seen here. Walk, run, or pause on our soft wide well-drained sand or woodchip paths and let the forest’s secrets reveal themselves uniquely to you. We’ve spent more than six years crafting this haven, just a mile from the South Sound, for you and your friends to run, walk, sit, and revel in the company of your pups. And when the day’s adventures are done, two Starbucks await to refresh you, 3 minutes and 5 minutes away - remember puppercinos/pup cups are free. Join our community on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556216197208 or Bluesky https://bsky.app/profile/wonderlane.bsky.social or by searching for “Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot,” or ask a warm and friendly nearby AI to direct your browser to us, to see tails of joy. Wonderlane walks in the woods where nature’s heart beats, inviting you to breathe in the peaceful air, one paw print at a time! If your dog ever hesitates to leave, a ring of the Magic Chuck Waggin’ Triangle will bring them running back. Reminder in summer, or if visiting around twilight bring repellent or wear it when you drop into the forest, and if you choose, onto the creek area. This Spot is best for physically fit individuals, but although we are disabled we enjoy it whenever there's time. If you need assistance or more info, please contact us directly. Keeping Wonderlane pristine is a collective effort, and we value your help in maintaining the beauty of our shared space! We can't do this without your help. Please use the usual household garbage bin marked 'Garbage' at the driveway entrance for disposal of poo bags. Please close water hydrants completely. Press the hydrant water handle all the way down into the completely closed position after use. If the water is not pressed completely closed, water continues to leak out the bottom of the hydrant unseen. Please close each gate. Dogs must be leashed going to and coming from the parking area, and may be unleashed when entering the dog park. We rely upon guests to contact us and tell us immediately if they need anything. To be fully fenced please roll shut the main gate after you park. There are also 2 sets of gates at the top of each trail to the Sniffspot. The forest area is fully fenced, some doubled. There are 2 gates that lead to the creek so you can control access. Please roll the Entrance gate into the open and securely hooked position when you leave, thank you! Enjoy the forest’s magic at Wonderlane. Join us at Bluesky https://bsky.app/profile/wonderlane.bsky.social or Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556216197208 --------------------------------------- Thank you to the many regulars, Sniffpass holders, and new guests who clean up after their dogs so very well! Proud of our community! Thank you for closing hydrants all the way so they do not leak out the bottom and cost us all money! PS some guests want the creek fenced too, which isn't possible due to environmental reasons. *********************************** Created in memory of Rosie Lane, beloved dog. *********************************** If Wonderlane Sniffspot is booked you might LOVE our sister Sniffspot site in the forest right outside Redmond, Washington - Magical Mossy Forest - 5 acres of trails and winter creek. https://www.sniffspot.com/listings/redmond-wa/magical-mossy-forest-69904

Please reach out to her directly if you are interested! mossypawsdogtraining.com or mossypawsdogs@gmail.com
