Description

Hi!! Come bring your pets to play in our private yard! We have our own pets as well, four German Shepherds. They can either be out and about with your dogs (up to you) or they can be put away. Our property is 40 acres. About half of it is wetlands and you will most likely not be able to walk it, though you’re more than welcomed to try! We have a portion of our yard fenced in specifically for the dogs, the rest is not fenced. If you’d like to walk in the woods you may do so, but if your dog is not well trained I would keep him/her on a leash during that period just as a precaution since you don’t know the area. We have two fire pits, one near the house and one in the clearing in the woods. You may use either one if you’d like. There is a hammock set up in the clearing as well, and seating (nothing fancy though) Next to the house, we have a bench swing, a table and chairs, a tree swing, and a yoga hammock on the tree. You may use any of these while your dog runs around :) We have a hose in the fenced in area and this can be used at any time for your dog for drinking water. During the summer, it will be attached to a sprinkler as well. We also have a kiddie pool for our pups during the summer. The grass in the yard used to be luxurious, however it has become muddy as one of my dogs is a digger. So PLEASE be aware of this if it is raining ! I know it drives me crazy and I don’t want you to be upset ! Let me know if you have any questions or concerns :-)

Hazards

-Holes in yard from our own dog digging - our dogs have dug out a “cave” underneath the deck. They sometimes hang out here. Your dog may go underneath the deck if he/she is anything like our dogs. *it goes no where, but it will be annoying trying to coax them out if it’s time to go! Also, there may be random household items (i.e., socks, etc.) underneath the deck. We are unable to get underneath and couldn’t tell you if there is anything there for certain or not, but keep that in mind. - the wire is sharp, we have snipped and stapled every piece we have seen but just in case we have missed any piece that may be poking out of the wooded fence, this is a potential hazard. We have had no injuries thus far (one year now), but please keep this in mind as well. -check for ticks after the woods. I’ve never seen any on myself, but our dog has two after going into the woods.

Additional rules

I like to meet my guests before allowing unsupervised reservations. If my husband or I are there, the bathroom is available. If neither of us are home, you may not use the bathroom as the door will be locked. There is a time limit of two hours on each booking. I am ok with extending it as long as my dogs are able to go out at some point. If you would like to extend your stay, please discuss with me. Please pick up your dogs poop before leaving. We will pick up our dogs poop before you arrive, I expect the same respect. If you bring something, please take it with you or throw it out in the garbage cans next to the garage. There is a block of wood over the gate that turns, this is to provide extra security to prevent the gate from opening. When you close the gate when you leave please make sure you put the block of wood back or our dogs will be able to get out. I will show you what I am referring to when we meet!
