Description

A beautiful mix of field, woods, and wetland, let your pup(s) run off that energy! The field trail is almost a 0.5 mi loop, but add on an extra trail to get more of your steps in! A short out-and-back path surrounded by tall wetland grass will lead you to a cool, clean segment of Lowes Creek (when it is dry enough for us to mow the trail…boots recommended!). Every season is special and accessible! This may mean snow, mud, puddles, or bugs, so please plan accordingly for all the country sights and sounds. *Cell reception is often spotty depending on your carrier.* Take a peek at our extra offerings when you book: Farm Friend Exposure and Run like the Wind!.

Farm Friend Exposure$20

Do you want to know how your dog will react around cats, chickens, and/or horses? Do you need a space to work on reactivity or recall with your dog (with or without your dog trainer)? This on-leash experience will provide at least 20min of your reservation time with host guided access to our fur and feathered friend areas. (I am not and do not claim to be a dog trainer. Use guidance and techniques of a trained professional.)

Run like the Wind!$20

Does your pup get in a better run racing against a machine? This experience provides a host-driven 4-Wheeler to encourage some fast field laps for up to 15min of your reservation time. Season dependent to when there is no snow. (Dog Owners will not be allowed on machinery. Offered only in off leash field area. Weather dependent as extreme heat would be a concern.)

You only need to pick up after your pup if they potty in the leashed area or on a mowed path or trail. Do a tick check after your walk!

Welcome to our private beach on the Buffalo River! The river is slow moving, shallow and all sand. It is about 1-2 feet deep near our beach, and deeper on the opposite side of the river. In heavy rain, it ebbs and flows in depths. You will park and walk to the beach on wooded trails about 600 feet to the beach. ** We are open and accepting bookings on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Years Day. ** 23 acres enclosed with 4' high woven wire fence, a mix of open field and heavy woods, sometimes turkey, grouse, gophers, and bunnies, lots of "sniff therapy"! Private entrance is shaded with easy access right onto the wooded trails! The portapotty and dog rinse station are located in the parking area. We have bug sprays and poop bags at the entrance and the far end of the field for you to use if needed. Special visitation hours or larger groups may be available under prior arrangement. Shoot us a message, and we can usually make larger groups or people traveling to/from dog competitions happen! For those traveling, we might also be able to accommodate visits outside of our normal hours. ***now that we have freezing temps at night, we are not leaving water out in the field.***

There are 15 acres of native prairie grasses and plants. There are a few trees and rolling hills. There is approximately 1.5 miles of mowed trails that loop and connect, creating several options for new routes for each visit. There is also an outhouse available if needed. However, it is within our normally private area, so dogs must be on leashes and there are hooks for leashes while in use.

Opportunity Woods Private Dog Park In Ridgeland

**If you are new to SniffSpot, please know that SS is doing a trial of enforced membership in SniffPass. You are able to opt out during the free week without paying the fee and continue to make single paid reservations as current guests do. Now my description: Opportunity Woods offers 5+ acres of hilly woods and long grass meadow surrounded by a secure 6 foot fence. Several benches are placed along the rustic trails, but of course, there is no need to stay on a trail! A water bowl can be found and filled from the human-potable water hydrant, where you will also find a wading pool for dog and human use in summer. There is a roofed picnic/shade shelter just up the hill from the hydrant. Take in the serene view of the surrounding area, and get a Birdseye view of Opportunity Farm, where sheep graze the nearby paddocks. Wire-wheel tables and chairs are available for relaxing, hanging out with your dog or having a picnic. Have your dog invite their friends to join in the fun, or have a private play date just with you!
