Description

Located 4 miles south of historic Franklin IN, is the oldest general aviation airport in Johnson County, serving the community for over 80 years. Just to the south of the runway sits a pond area for your pups to take a swim. In the back of the property is a ton of space for your furry friend to run and explore. Grand Opening August 1, 2022!

Here at The Dog House we have 12 acres divided into 4 different areas depending on your pup’s needs. We also have a small area of woods and a creek to explore. You will have access to the electricity and water in the The Dog House (barn) and shelter in case of rain.

Please confirm date and time prior to reservation 😃 Hoosier’s on the ridge sits on 15 acres right next to Yellowwood State Forest! This land provides all terrain options for whatever your dog desires. You can stay close to your car in a field setting or walk deep into the valley to explore the creek bed on a hot day. I have built 4 campsites on the property (also for rent,) so there are 4 unique sitting spots, hammocks, tables, and fire pits. We have 2 golden retrievers (1M/1FM, both fixed) and a golden doodle (1m/fixed) who can either be put in the house during your visit or come socialize, whatever you prefer. We would be happy to accommodate large groups, dog social clubs, etc., just contact us. We hope to see you soon so that your dog may roam the hallowed ground of Brown County. -Hoosier’s on the Ridge

Tucker's Wish Run and Play Park

The only Sniffspot with an indoor room in all of Indiana! I work at a local shelter and i started this spot to help our shelter dogs have a place to go enjoy time with their humans who don’t have yards and/or can’t enjoy public dog parks. *dog beer only available with a minimum 10 hour notice of visit to prepare. Our air conditioned Indoor space is ready for fun. My backyard dog park is filled with water fun, toys, obstacles, and more fun than you’ll find anywhere else. -my neighbors do have dogs but there is a big distance and privacy fence in between my yard and there’s and it hasn’t seem to disturb my guests and their (reactive) dogs much at all yet. She often puts them away if they get too much. -full privacy fence -yard obstacles like tires, a kids bench, kiddie pools, tree hanging tug toy, and more for your dog to enjoy playing in, on and around. -covered sandbox. Uncover and enjoy! -A bucket of toys of all size, age and destruction levels. -endless tennis balls -towels -multiple kiddie pools. -multiple raised cots for your pup to relax or train on. -accessible water hose -SPLASH PAD -plenty of doggie bags at your disposal -A water dispenser and cups. -This spot is dedicated to my soul mate Tucker who crossed over the rainbow bridge way too early. This would’ve been his dream yard. Current frozen pup cup flavors: (While supplies last) PB Cookie Blueberry banana Chicken n' biscuits PB banana Pumpkin pie Banana pumpkin

**Winter Update! If it has been below freezing for an extended period of time we will have a partially iced pond. It is NOT safe to have dogs running on the ice. Please message for current pond status and plan accordingly. A recall is needed when ice is present on the pond** Enjoy a fully fenced (4 foot wire mesh livestock style fencing) run through mowed grass, NEW tall natural meadow (we are “rewilding” a portion of our yard to native plants), two short wooded trails and access to a large pond with dock. Dogs are welcome to swim—bring towels and be prepared for some mud if it’s been raining or you have a pond monster doggy. Woods have wonderful smells, my dogs sometimes find delightful things to roll in. A hose is available for use on warm days and there is a nearby Tractor Supply if your pup needs a spa treatment after their romp. We do have chickens on site and ask you not allow your dog to harass them as you enter and leave (chickens are in a separate fenced area and in a coop/run). My dogs will be in the house—some barking may happen on your arrival but they will not be loose. Wildlife may be encountered (deer, squirrels, crawfish, muskrats, many birds and snapping turtles). **Note: I didn’t want to claim the site as accessible as it is grass and some uneven ground, but feel free to reach out if you need an accommodation to access the spot and we can discuss what is possible** We welcome all.
