Description

My husband and I have a little peace of heaven here in the Shenandoah Valley! Our goal is to provide a space for all dogs to play, run and sniff away! We have a huge field with a platform/ramps, tug rope, agility poles, stick collection, hidden container with treats and possibly a prize toy! We host many special events for pups as well as birthday parties for your pups! I spent many years volunteering, fostering and ultimately adopting many animals from rescue non-profits over the years. Throughout all of the years I spent in animal rescues, I realized that most dogs don’t get much time outside of the kennels. I also came to understand that many rescue animals have trauma related behaviors and cannot integrate with other dogs. I feel so grateful to be able to provide a space for dogs to be off leash and have the freedom to explore! Also, it is a significant bonding experience for pups and their parents to have this special time together! Our dogs are in a separate fenced area but because I feel this time is for you and your pup(s), I will put my pups in the house so they are not visible to you and your pups. We want you and your pups to have an amazing visit! We’re just minutes from Interstate 66 & 81. Please contact me at (540) 671-0720 if you have any concerns and/or suggestions. DOG PARK PLAY AREA: This area is 100% fenced in with two gates (entry/exit) for extra security. Please always close and latch gates behind you as you enter/exit. CREEK: Please note the creek is NOT within the fenced dog park play area! It is directly across from the dog park play area and on the left side as you walk from your car to the play area. Provided are the use of 20, 30, 40 foot long leashes (red, blue, black). Guests are welcome to use these to allow their pups more freedom to explore the creek! If your pup has excellent recall you are welcome to let them off leash but do so at your own risk! HIKING TRAIL: In addition to the dog park play area there is an awesome hiking trail for guests, however, please note it is temporarily “ON-LEASH ONLY” due to improvements and upgrades we are creating!

HOST NOTE

CREEK: Getting into the creek is rocky and in some areas a bit steep as well as the bottom of the creek is very rocky. Caution as well as the right shoes for humans should be taken and worn at all times if you choose to go in with your pup! Additionally, if your pup has compromised balance (risk of falling) or any wounds (any bacteria that may be present) they should not attempt to get into the creek. HIKING TRAIL: In general hiking trail terrain is not smooth, can be rocky or have risk of tripping in specific areas. There can also be slippery terrain from rain or snow. Also, there are trees, brush from trees, leaves, etc. (totally normal for any hiking path) on both sides of the path. Just use caution and keep your pups within eye sight if at all possible. The area isn’t that big to where they can’t venture off too far but it’s always best to try and keep them within eyesight. When adventuring into the beauty of nature there are always risks so it is always best to use caution and remember safety comes first!

Additional rules

Please park in designated area. Please have your dog on a leash until you are inside the fenced area. Please pick up toys and put inside the baskets in the brown bench box. Please pick up fecal waste. Poop bags and pooper scooper are next to the trash receptacle inside the play area. Please close all gates as you enter and leave the fenced areas. Please do not leave your dog unattended while on property. We understand sometimes toys get broken and/or destroyed, we just ask that you be vigilant about preventing this the best you can. Toys are expensive to replace and we want to continue to provide them for all of our fur friends. PLEASE NOTE: The creek is NOT within the fenced dog park! Pups are welcome to go in the creek on leash and at your own risk. There are 20, 30, 40 foot long leashes (red, blue, black) you are welcome to use for your pup to explore the creek. PLEASE NOTE: Usually the hiking trail is 100% fenced and your pup can be off leash, however temporarily we have taken sections of the fence down because we are making awesome upgrades and changes to the trail! Lastly but not least, if you and your pup had a blast and would like to give a review I would be so grateful! If you are dissatisfied or have recommendations please PM me and give me the opportunity to correct the issue before putting in your review.

About our park…My husband and I have five acres of land and when we heard about Sniffspot it was a no brainer for us! We take pride in making sure the park is well manicured and we have recently added a picnic table and umbrella for extra shade and place to sit. We have a very large area completely fenced with lots of fun stuff for pups! We have a platform with ramps, toys galore, chuck it and lots of balls, several doggie pools, agility poles, hoop jumps and hoop run through! We have a pop up tunnel and additional pop up fun! Tug it ropes, squeaky toys and so much more! We also have a hiking trail and beautiful creek for you and your pup to explore! The hiking trail is normally off leash but currently it is under construction and part of the fence is down so it is temporarily on leash only! The creek is not in the fenced area, however, we have 20, 30, 40 foot leashes (red, blue, black) available for you to use so your pup can explore the creek without you having to get wet. The leashes are placed along side the creek. The creek is amazing to explore for pups who love water and we love that we have it available but safety is a must so please be safe, use at your own risk and please do not leave pups unattended while in the creek! Humans should wear closed toe shoes with a no slip bottom (preferably water shoes) while in the creek! We have so many more plans for our park and are excited to add more as finances permit! Most importantly, we want you and your pup to have the best time and memorable experience! About me….I have a lifelong passion for animals, with over 20 years of experience as a devoted pet parent and animal caregiver. I believe animals are the window to our souls, each with unique backgrounds, special needs, and behavioral traits. Throughout the years, I have dedicated my time and resources to rescuing, fostering, and adopting animals in need. To me, being an animal lover means always prioritizing the well-being of every fur baby, ensuring they receive the physical and mental stimulation necessary for their happiness and growth.
