My dog will be kept away from windows and doors but might be heard briefly alert-barking from inside. Her doggie door on the patio will be turned off & cannot be opened without a special collar. Neighbor on the north side of the property has an elderly dog who sometimes will spy on us - there are privacy panels in place to block her views & an additional fence panel to prevent nose-to-nose contact. ***If your dog is sound-reactive or fearful, please let me know and I will do my best to remove my own dog during your visit (I can ask the neighbor to keep hers indoors, but cannot guarantee dog won't be out).*** Neighbor kitty-corner behind is fostering 2 juvenile dogs who can be heard but not seen up close due to paneling. No physical contact possible (unless your dog jumps fences). We regularly host fearful/stressed shelter dogs and welcome reactive dogs - that said, please make sure you are NOT arriving early or leaving late. We want to keep everyone safe by preventing accidental interactions between guests & with my resident dog (who is NOT friendly to strangers).

Dog-friendly URBAN neighborhood (you might see walkers, including USPS mail carriers, on the sidewalks when entering or exiting) and some neighbors allow cats to roam freely. There are also SO MANY wild rabbits & squirrels roaming around right now. Keep a tight grip on leashes when exiting car! :)

As we are in an urban setting, neighbors are often visible or audible. Children live on 2 sides, but are aware of my own reactive dog and are usually considerate/cautious. Tall fencing and fencing panels should prevent direct contact with children/neighbors. ****The garden is closed off - please do not enter or allow your dogs to enter. *** Delivery drivers like Amazon or the USPS mail carriers often walk on sidewalks & on the paths in front of houses here. If your dog is human- reactive, please keep an eye out for them. The grass is a constant work-in-progress, please don't judge us lol. We've had grub damage and the heavy-equipment from the tree removal caused some turf disruption.

Description

*** Discount code for MACC/PUPS fosters & volunteers bringing shelter dogs on field trips. Please PM for details BEFORE booking!*** Charming urban oasis located within minutes of Downtown Minneapolis. Yard is flat and spacious, perfect for zoomies or laying around in the grass. Relax in comfy chairs on the patio or under the NEW! pergola while your pups play. Fresh water provided, and a waste station is in the SW corner. We don't use lawn chemicals, so your pup is always safe to roll in the clover or nibble on grass. Plenty of street parking (please do not park in the driveway) and a private entrance along the north side of the property. Please make sure gate is securely closed before leaving. Resident dog may bark briefly from indoors at you but will be out of direct sight. If your pup is reactive to sound, please let me know ahead of time & I will do my best to remove mine from the property while you visit. All proceeds from this Spot go to dog rescue. <3 SUMMER: Kiddie pool will be setup in warmer weather (65F and up) unless guest requests otherwise. There is a shallow plastic splashpad for littles/nervous dogs- please add on as an extra (no cost/free) if you want it setup (see photos for details), it requires a special hose hookup so I don't set it out unless asked.

HOST NOTE

Neighbor to the north has elderly Beagle mix who likes to spy through a corner. No physical contact possible. And neighbor kitty-corner behind is fostering 2 juvenile dogs (no physical contact possible) audible (barking) triggers and minimal visual access only. Garden gate is kept closed, but the wire anti-rabbit fencing can be difficult to see sometimes. You may want to walk your dog along the fence-line on their first visit to prevent accidental bonks when they're running later. I'm working on finding something nice-looking to add to the fencing that also makes it easily visible for dogs. Very small dogs (cat-sized or smaller) could potentially squeeze through the bottom of the entry gate as the corner edge is rounded. I can provide a baby gate if this is a concern. I have solar walkway lights along front path and throughout the backyard, but their performance varies depending on how much sunlight they receive during the day. Patio has electric string lights along the garage and is softly lit. Please take care when walking if there isn't sufficient daylight; walk carefully & use handrails on stairs if wet/slippery.

Please do not allow your dog to dig or pull up plants, damage the privacy fence panels, or chew furniture/general landscaping/structures. ***EXCEPTION: The ornamental grasses on either side of the patio steps are fine for dogs to "nest" in- they all seem to love rolling on the grasses. They will stand back up on their own later. Just no digging or chewing, please.*** Please do not take home any toys, bubbles, bug spray supplies, towels, or extra poop bags. All waste must be picked up and bagged before being disposed of in the trash can - if they pooped it, please scoop it! Visitors CANNOT accept deliveries of food or goods while on-site (sorry, no ordering Doordash or UberEats). You're welcome to get food ahead of time & bring it with you as long as you clean up & fully dispose of it before leaving.
