Description

We just moved to the area, so we recommend that you only book us if you have dogs good with recall and off leash. 2.5 acres is a lot to chase a dog that doesn't recall. Additionally, we do have coyotes in the area so little dogs are not ideal. I'm told they are timid and fearful of humans, but it' not worth the risk. Please no diggers as we don't want to worry about them creating openings for coyotes. We do have some sitting water/pond in back. Water can collect in other divots in the ground (used to be a BMX bike track). Be careful with dogs that like to explore as they may want to dive in and it's not clean yet. We just moved in and the property may have other things to be concerned about but from what we can tell, our dogs love it and the only other thing we have found is one of those burs in their coat if they run along the fence on the side of the property (left side if you're looking t the train in back). We will continuously update this to be a very friendly dog space. More to come as the weather warms!! Parking: You may park on the outside or inside of the gate. The right side of the gate pushes open (it's on a wheel). We will be getting an automatic gate soon. You're welcome to pull in and drive straight to the back of the property and park anywhere except on the gravel/slab closest to house. (There are septic tanks under there). You can park on the grass. It will be easier to exit if you park in the back but you can also park out front of the garage! Please close gate behind you to ensure your dog is fully fenced in and coyotes are fenced out! Message with any questions! SOON we will have a dog friendly air bnb that will offer you access to indoor plumbing and snacks! :) You may sit by the shed that has the outdoor patio to relax. You can pull chairs around the side if you like for a better view of your pup. A fully furnished poop station, first aid kit, toys and treats can be found there along with sanitizer and water for humans.

HOST NOTE

The land used to be a BMX bike track. It is hilly/bumpy and uneven. Better for dogs who hike. There is some type of pond in the back. It's not clean. I don't know what's in it and could be a hazard. Water collects in the uneven parts of the land. There is wildlife- hawks, owls, & coyotes are common. Larger dogs that don't jump the fence and don't dig are preferred. Diggers create holes for coyotes. Don't recommend little dogs at this time unless you want to use our 30'x30' 6' tall chain link enclosed fence (photos to come). It's 1/2 gravel 1/2 grass and not quite beautiful yet. We do have a few chairs in the enclosure. There is a freight train track behind the house.

Respectfully, you're a stranger coming to our home. Please make sure you have a profile photo of you. If you do not have one, we will cancel your reservation. If you arrive and are not the person in the photo, we will refuse access to the space. This is a safety and security issue. Please close front driveway gate behind you to keep the yard fully fenced for your pup and to keep wildlife out. Recommend using the chain on windy days as that front gate can blow open and/or closing the interior ranch gates along the walking path to the house and next to the garage.

Hiya! Originally from Hawai'i, lived in Illinois over 20 years and currently reside in the suburb of West Chicago near Wheaton. I have been dog sitting for over 3 decades. We have 2.5 fenced acres of freedom! The backyard used to be a BMX bike track so it has hills and uneven terrain- great for dogs that like hiking and exercise. Soon we will have a 30'x30' smaller area for littles to roam freely. We are always adding to the space and plan to make this a dog friendly property with lots of engaging things as we settle in. We moved here 12/2024.

Fully fenced yard with +6ft fencing. No gaps in beteeen the fence so it is totally cut off from any sight into other yards. There is one small dog that very rarely is outside but it’s never for long. And we have wood panels pushed up under the fence so there’s no way for any dogs that are in my yard to see it be near anybody’s in surrounding yards. I also have two kiddie pools (one for small breed) and one 71inch pool for any large breed dogs that would like to go in the water to play. I have plenty of toys and balls to keep them busy and a doggy bed covered outside. I myself have a reactive dog so I am well aware of the protocol for them. My dog would be with me out away in my room so there would be no chance of your dog seeing or hearing mine. My backyard is VERY well shaded as we have tonssss of trees out back to provide shade and chairs for anyone who wants to sit. It truly is the perfect yard for all your reactive dogs needs and I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!! **I’ll also be including more pictures of the backyard in the next few hours to give a better look into it**

We have three dogs who will be in the house during your visit. We have a fully fenced in yard. Chickens will be in the coop, they will not be allowed out when visitors are here. We also have beehives but the bees are not very active from November-late February, our dogs have never had any issues. We do ask that nobody touches the fairy’s in the fairy garden. Big or small dogs welcome. Let your furry friend burn some energy while you chill on the patio or toss a frisbee around. Enter through the gate between the house and the garage, make sure gate closes all the way. I hope you enjoy our yard!
