55We had a blast on this beautiful property with our reactive senior cattle dog. There was a lot more to explore than we were expecting, and it was fun even when it was pouring rain. The parking spot was far enough away from the fenced in animals that we had no issues with arrival or departure. We will be back up from Portland to visit this lovely spot very soon!
55Very pretty property always clean and Maintained. There is no fencing so if your pup is not very good at recall just be wary as there is quite a a bit of forest trails. Lots a land to roam my dog loves it here!
55Such a beautiful place!!! Both my dog and I had a blast. I appreciated the very easy obvious signage (the dog park kiosk and map is a very cute touch) and I think I said "WOW this is such a beautiful property" about 50 times out loud to my dog 😂. The forest trail is really amazing and SUPER well maintained and we loved exploring. My dog is a mountain goat -- very sure footed on uneven terrain -- but folks with clumsier dogs may need to turn around once the trail starts to really narrow. I booked 2 hours so we wouldn't have to rush, and we stayed for just over 90 minutes. I really appreciate having the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful land, thank you for sharing your home!
55What a special place for dogs to roam and explore! Definitely worth a trip up from Portland. The dogs loved the loops around the fields and then especially loved going down into the creek area in the forest. The host was there and was super kind and I’m just so grateful for the opportunity to get to to use that space for my sweet dogs!
55We finally made it out here and my dog had such a great time! He especially loved the stream and zoomied like a mad man in and around it. Really appreciate the trails and that the areas that were unfenced still felt fenced in due to the blackberry bushes.
55Our malinois had SO much fun! He loved the land, trails, and the water. 11/10! Our pup even had a little accident in his crate & they were so kind to let us use their hose!
55What an amazing space to play! The boys had a great time and were exhausted when we left. Definitely worth booking a 2 hour visit just to discover all the trails and run up and down the creek. We will definitely make this a regular special visit.
55What a beautiful spot! We had a great time exploring the trails, especially in the woods along the creek. So much room to romp! We will definitely be back for a longer visit.
55We had a great time hiking around the property and the creek! Hosts were super accommodating and the place was beautiful as advertised! We even had a dry place to walk under the trees when it rained. We’ll be back!
55This is the second time our pack has explored this lovely property. Our scrappy senior girls love it! A strolling field walk and then a muddy creekside adventure! We arrived a little later in the morning on a warm summer day, so the shaded creekside romp hit the spot. This sniff spot had fresh water for our pups and other little dog related conveniences. Merry and Venus enjoyed their 'wild dog' time! Thank you so much... Your property is now one of our regular Sniff spots.

Hazards

There is a mowed trail around the entire field year round. You are welcome to frolic the entire field just be alert as there are some very uneven sections of ground and some holes that our dog has dug trying to get mice! The little trail that goes into the woods could have some down limbs and can be slick when it’s wet out. So please be careful and have fun!

This property has been in my family’s name since the late 1800s. Back then the main road from Woodland to Amboy was gravel! Make sure to say hello to 🐖 Penny Pig if she is out 😀 Wemberly and Oreo (the totes magoats) will likely be watching you. They are curious! Our hens (Skittle, BoPeep & Shim) might be cackling and pecking about but will be fenced in. We will give you your space while you’re visiting but may give a wave when you arrive and /or leave. We welcome you to our little slice of heaven!

Nature in the City Private Dog Park

Nature in the City is a unique Private Dog Park that is 1 1/2 acres of beautiful natural land with varied landscapes. Step out of the city and into our natural setting that features different areas including 2 grassy fields perfect for fetch w/discs, ropes, or toys, (balls are not best here due to all of the surrounding bushes), a couple of forested areas, a tall grassy wetland-like area, several nature trails for hiking adventures where your dog(s) can explore, run & feel free, and a healthy little creek that’s a hit with the pups. They can wade, cool off, and drink from the natural water. Your dogs will have so many different sniffing and secure off-leash exploring opportunities here! Our spot is so much more than just a fenced field! The area is diverse and so much fun for your dog(s)! This is a great spot to work on recall. There are a couple areas on the trails that are a little steep, there’s a trail where you have to walk on logs 🪵, and the little creek has to be stepped over, so people with limited mobility may have issues in these areas of the spot. There are plenty of spaces and trails that are suitable for all abilities. If you’re looking for a basic fenced field to play chuck-it then this probably isn’t your spot. We are continually working on our property, so every time you visit it will have more open space, more trails, and the blackberry bushes will be trimmed back. We provide a rain/sun shelter with 4 foldable chairs and lots of supplies including dog toys & balls, poop bags, hand sanitizer, natural bug spray, wipes, hand towels, first aid kit, and a cornhole yard game. Located outside are 2 zero-gravity reclining chairs, a kids size picnic table, and fresh drinking water for your pups. There are open areas with sun ☀️, and there is shade all day due to many large trees. Our property is fully secure with 5 to 6 ft fencing. We walk the fence line regularly and check to make sure it’s secure. We are located close-in on the Westside of Vancouver one mile from I-5 on 78th Street in West Hazel Dell near Felida. *It gets muddy in areas when it has been wet/raining outside. Come prepared so you enjoy your visit. **We just added 6 solar flood lights in the main field area for those of you who need to visit after dark. They light up the entryway, main field, and the shelter. Thank you!
