Description

Welcome to Wilde Kind Farm! Bring your doggos to run and play off-leash in our 4 acres of fenced play yard! We have lots of space to explore, toys, cold drinks and lots of other amenities! We have 75 acres here in historic Litchfield with the original 1830 farmhouse and a big red barn. We have a couple areas for your to explore. A smaller area with shelter and taller fencing that is lit up at night. Or you can go through the gate to our "wilder" area to the left of the barn. Please note the entire SS accessible property is fenced. There is a driveway gate, and a second gate to enter our SniffSpot. To access the fenced acreage walk to the left of the Barn and look for the "Guest Entrance" sign on the gate.

HOST NOTE

This is a farm so there may be materials for projects around. There are rocks, roots, and some uneven ground. A concrete well access that is capped. Winter: there may be snow, ice, mud, and puddles. Watch for falling ice/snow off the barn roof! We recommend you wear boots and bring ice spikes if the weather has been creating icy conditions.

The driveway, orchard, front garden, and barn/dooryard of our home ARE NOT part of the SniffSpot. The SniffSpot begins at the Guest Entrance to the left of the big red barn. Keep your dog on leash in this area. We are planting gardens and orchards in that area and may have projects in front of the barn, so we ask that you keep your dog on leash at all times in the parking area, and stay inside the designated SniffSpot areas. Thank you.

Hello! We were born and raised in Maine and recently moved to beautiful Wilde Kind Farm in Litchfield. We have four big dogs and know how hard it can be to find a place to let your dog run off leash safely and legally so we wanted to open our land and trails to other dog owners to enjoy.

Come visit our farm where we have a lit up, fenced play yard, citronella candles, bug spray, and and lots of toys. For the hoomans there is a 3-sided shelter with seating. Get out of the weather, charge your phone, and stay cool while your dogs play! Please note we are updating fencing and adding some new daytime areas so the fencing area may be changing around a bit as we finish updates this fall. This is a long, large space that dogs could run and play in. The side of the house where the entrance is the same fenced in area as back yard, it is also the entrance to our house so we will let you know if we are home or expecting deliveries. We do have neighbors with dogs that are let out a few times a day but do not spend most of their time in the yards next to ours. We don’t have any dogs ourselves but you will definitely have a kitty audience (we have 5!). Feel free to sit on the steps on the back porch or the chairs around the fire pit, and you can also feel free to fill your dog’s bowl with water from our hose on the side of the house, just please shut it off. :)
