**NOTE: this time of year please beware of possible ice under the snow in the backyard.** Sturdy wire fencing encompasses the Golden Dog Playground. If your dog is very small they could possibly fit through the spaces between the gates and fences and the fence and side of our house. In addition to the entrance gate, there is an emergency exit gate as well as 3 gates, which are locked, along the back fence in the woods. There is a wood pile under the solar array where little critters like to live and hang out. Please be aware in case your dogs have a high prey drive that they may be particularly interested in this area. There are so many fun things for your dogs to engage with at the Playground, including a digging station, enrichment toys, a stretching board, confidence building equipment, natural fitness stations, chickens, and more (seasonally)! **We do advise that your dog wears a harness and that you guide them on the confidence building equipment to avoid injury.** The forest area has been blown free of debris, but rocks, roots, sticks, will be visible from storms/wind. We work diligently to keep these areas clean and safe. The back lawn can be a bit uneven due to settling of loam/rocks. There are also compost bins on the property. They are enclosed but something to be aware of. There are Hosta plants and other ornamentals within the fenced-in areas (seasonal). There is a landscaped area near our porch with rocks, a fire pit, chairs and ornamentals. This area is fenced off. Please do not let your dog enter this fenced off area. There are 2 chickens enclosed in a separate fenced-in area on the property. If your dog has a high prey drive and you are concerned about them being fixated on our hens, choose "Hide Chickens" under Extras when booking. This feature is available for early AM and late PM visits.

NOTE: Please only book this option for visits at 8:00 or 8:30am or 4:00 or 4:30pm (fall/winter). For dogs with a high prey drive, meeting our chickens (even though enclosed within a coop) may be overwhelming. We are happy to temporarily close the chickens in their wooden enclosure, while you are visiting, to help keep your dogs under threshold.

Bear Brook Canine Camp

Fully fenced in approximately two acres. We now have lighting for nighttime use. Approximately five times around the property perimeter equals a mile. We have chuck-it throws and balls, many toys, sand/digging areas, pools and agility equipment in a large, fenced area for you and your dog to romp around. Main entrance to the yard can be found by entering the second driveway and parking in the designated parking area in front of the solar barn. We do not plow that driveway in the winter as it’s just gravel. So, feel free to park at the bottom of my driveway and walk to the SS gate if you’re not comfortable using the SS driveway. We ask that you please adhere to our 24 hour notice when changing or canceling a reservation. We are always fully booked on weekends.
