PLEASE READ – Important Info Below Check our Facebook page for important updates and information: https://www.facebook.com/share/1DT3T6KL5z/ A dog punctured the hose so look for the water jug behind the green barrel (to keep it cool). We are also aware that someone severely bent the poop pick up tools. If they break on your watch, just let me know so I can buy another set. Thank you. About the Pooch Playground: Located on a scenic working farm (you may see tractors or people at a distance), this fully enclosed ¼-acre space sits beside a small woodland, offering peace and privacy. The nearby field is preserved for wildlife. The perimeter of the spot is left a bit wild, so it is more enriching for dogs. Grass Care: We mow weekly on the highest setting—grass stays longer than a golf course but never over ankle height. This protects the lawn from wear and dog urine. We also leave small "islands" of taller grass for sniffing fun. Shade & Seating: There isn’t much natural shade. From about 11:00 AM on, there is shade along the fence line closest to the woods. Feel free to move the chairs to a shady spot if needed. Frisbees: Free to take home! Pool Info: The water may look cloudy due to an algae inhibitor and barley treatment—it’s safe for dogs. Other Notes: We do morning and evening chores, so you may see us around. The garden, house, and barn are far enough away that it's rarely a disruption. Lost a toy in the tall grass? Just let us know—we’re happy to fetch it for you.

Feel free to reach out via text 603-401-3164 with any questions or concerns. Helpful Info: - Amenities that say "Upon Request" are free to use but I don't like to leave them out all of the time. If you would like to use one or all, just message me through sniffspot and let me know so I can have it out for you. - For doggie play-dates, one person should book for all attendees. - You can park on the street or in the driveway when available. - The pool is protected by a fence in the winter and open in the summer. Access to the pool is blocked by a gate on the deck stairs. - After a lot of rain we sometimes get muddy puddles. - The yard has grass, flowers, woods, a kiddie pool, access to a hose, water bowl, dog toys, a place for pet parents to sit and relax while the doggos play. - Its probably a bit more than a 1/2 acre fenced with grass and a wooded trail. There will almost always be someone home during any visit as I work from home. We have dogs and I will lock them inside the house while we have visitors. Rules: 1. We would appreciate a 24 hour notice for all reservation changes or cancellations. 2. If you have more than 2 cars attending at the same time, please park at North Broadway Crossing. 3. Only one booking is in the yard at a time. 4. Due to the pool, no person under 18 is allowed on the property without adult supervision. 5. It is crucial that you arrive during and only stay for the time booked because another family may be booked directly after you or I could have my dogs in the yard if you are there outside of your booked time and I wouldn't want an unexpected encounter.

Large Fenced in Yard with Some Woods to Explore

Fully Fenced
0.5 acres

Update 12/8/24: A tree branch fell on my fence, knocking it down. The tree branch has been removed and the fence lifted back up but it is not secure. Please check the fence before unleashing your dog to ensure it is still up and they won't be able to get out. Most dogs probably won't even notice but if you have dogs that intentionally look for ways out, my spot won't be the best match until I get it fixed. Message me if you would like pictures prior to booking. Update 6/12/23: While I love the tree by the mailbox, I recognize it makes backing out of my driveway very difficult. Feel free to back into the drive so that your line of sight isn't blocked when trying to leave. Update 4/11/23: There are times that I block off my yard for the whole day to ensure that I don't have back-to-back visits and that there is time for the dogs I am dog sitting to run around. I don't need all this time so feel free to message me if you would like to visit on that particular day and I can unblock a slot for you to book. General Information I have a large fenced in yard. It is chain link and 6ft tall. It is reinforced at the bottom. There is a woodsy area in the yard for dogs to explore as well. Lots of room to run! You may notice your dog spends most of his/her time sniffing around instead of running. This is typical for the first visit: 1. It is a new space for them and they get a lot of information through their nose 2. Lots of dogs have been in my yard so there is so much to smell. This is still great enrichment and will lead to a tired and fulfilled dog. Please bring your own dog toys, water, and water bowl. If your dog poops (even if in the woods), can you please pick it up? I have a dog that likes to eat poop - so gross! You may notice that sometimes my deck is gated off. I do this so that the visiting dogs aren't distracted by the sliding door, standing in front of it thinking they are there to come into the house instead of playing in the yard. You are more than welcome to take one of them down if you want to sit up on the deck. If I forget to put the gate up and you want to block your dog from coming up on the deck, feel free to put it on the stairs to block the entryway. Other things worth mentioning: - My neighbor to the right of me has ducks. They are typically quiet but visible. - Depending on the weather and time of the year, parts of the yard may be icy and/or muddy! Bring towels to wipe down your dog afterwards. If you visit early spring, you may see ground bees flying around on the south facing side of the house. By late April, you won't even know they are there. They are very docile (in fact most species don't have stingers) and are great pollinators. - I also dog sit out of my home. Some dogs that I watch are vocal and may bark the whole time you are visiting. If your booking time is during a time that I am home, I can ensure that they are kept quiet and don’t interfere with your visit. If hearing barking coming from my house is something that will impact your visit, feel free to reach out to me beforehand to confirm whether or not I am dog sitting and/or will be home. If there is anything I can do to make this a more enjoyable experience, please message me with feedback :) Hope you have a great time!

FAQ About New Hampshire Dog Parks

What inspired Sniffspot to offer a network of private dog parks?

Sniffspot's founder, David Adams, lives with a leash reactive dog and a dog selective dog. Back in 2016, he and his wife Rebecca were struggling to meet their pup Toshii's basic needs in a city environment as there was nowhere safe to let their guards down. In passing, Rebecca texted that she wished “there was an app to find places to let him off leash” — and the rest, as they say, is history.

David is heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of Sniffspot. His personal experiences have made him passionate about giving all dogs the opportunity to sniff, run, and play without fear! As long as we share a place on Earth, Sniffspot believes that dogs have an inherent right to live a fulfilling, joyful, and rewarding life just like we do.

What kind of dogs benefit from private dog parks?

The short answer: All dogs!

Because they're private spaces without the chaos of many public city parks, Sniffspots are especially well suited to dogs who are nervous, in training, or working through reactivity. But every pet can benefit from time with just their owners in an environment all to themselves.

Here are a few things guests commonly use Sniffspots for:

  • Working on training skills, like recall, in an environment with moderate distractions (a good middle step between your own home and busier areas out in public)
  • Having playdates with one or two trusted dogs, either just for fun or to help build healthy social skills
  • Being able to run around in a securely fenced space especially if owners don't have a yard of their own
  • Safely exposing dogs to new environments, which is a key part of proper socialization — many Sniffspots offer varying terrain like water features plus a range of objects like agility equipment that can help your pup get comfortable in more situations
  • Changing up regular walking and play routines to provide more variety and fulfillment — taking the same route or playing in the same park every day in a row can get boring for our pets!
Aren't public dog parks good for dogs?

It's important for most modern dogs to have off leash exercise where they're able to engage in natural behaviors like sniffing and running. Since letting dogs off leash in city parks can be dangerous for the surrounding community and wildlife — not to mention can lead to issues with animal control or park authority departments — public dog parks are a legal way to let dogs have off leash exercise.

Unfortunately, the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There might be unsocialized dogs displaying aggressive behavior, sick pets leading to disease transmission, or left-behind waste and other sanitation issues (since any given public dog park facility may not be cleaned regularly). All this aside, other dog owners are often inattentive of their dogs — particularly in popular parks specifically designed for pets to run off leash. Some people think of these areas like babysitters for their dogs and don't stay engaged in their pets' behavior.

For these reasons, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks instead. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time. They are not open to the public — a reservation is required ahead of time, with both guests and hosts agreeing to certain protocols to ensure there aren't any unexpected surprises in the space — which solves many of these issues.

How do I know if a private Sniffspot dog park works for my dog?

Dogs enjoy Sniffspot dog parks for all kinds of different reasons — spanning from physical exercise to behavior modification training to agility or other dog sports practice and more. Whatever your primary goals, there is a Sniffspot dog park for you!

There are many different types of private dog parks available. Sniffspot hosts offer locations like designated training yards; expansive fields; large, fully-fenced off-leash dog parks; indoor facilities with lights and other amenities; dog sports courses complete with agility equipment; pools and natural water features; and more. Some even have niche amenities, such as a park splash pad and dog-friendly potable water fountains.

You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by size, fencing, and distractions that might be present via our dog park locator. If your dog doesn't have a good recall, you can visit one of our fully fenced dog parks. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our off-leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people! Each listing includes the park hours of operation — and by reading reviews you can understand the status of condition, for example, if a section of the fence is in poor condition or there are any park maintenance issues.

How does Sniffspot ensure their private dog parks are safe?

While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission, and general cleanliness (often as much an issue with the person in charge as with their dog) Sniffspot dog parks are much safer environments to let your dog express their natural behaviors.

All Sniffspot bookings are private with a time buffer in between

With Sniffspot, all bookings are private — the only park users at a given time are the dog owners who signed up and dogs they bring with them in their own group. Any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits.

We also enforce buffers between bookings to ensure you aren't arriving or leaving at the same time another park user is present.

Sniffspot requires visiting dogs to have vaccinations

We require all dogs to be vaccinated or have equivalent titers.

Sniffspot listings are vetted and reviewed by guests like you

Perhaps most helpful to know exactly what you're getting into: Sniffspot dog park locations are vetted and reviewed by guests, so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog — whether they have behavioral struggles, special needs, or any other specific considerations. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars and many spots have been reviewed hundreds of times.

Hosts are able to inventory their dog parks firsthand

Hosts are in charge of keeping their park areas clean, and many go out of their way to provide visitors with exceptional experiences. Because each host can control the number of guests that visit in a given time period, they're able to maintain their spaces better than many public parks departments can. It's a win-win for everyone in the community!

Prices vary based on size, fencing and amenities, such as water or drinking fountains for dogs, park benches, WiFi accessibility, and so on.
