Like all neighborhoods in Washington State, you may hear dogs barking at a distance. Neighbors have dogs that might be able to hear or see from a long distance because this hilly land overlooks 20 acres of forest and wetlands. Our senior disabled rescue dog is dog-friendly, she stays inside during visits. You may hear a small bark from inside our lodge. If you arrive early you might see us with our dog in the front yard from the 200ft driveway as we scamper inside, Guests can make many special arrangements by request, just please reach out.

In the summertime, there may be the sounds of happy kids playing or visible in the neighboring yards at a distance. "Unexpected Encounters with Dogs/People" reports are sent directly to the host. You might see neighbors in their houses or working on their yards like any neighborhood. Fences and gates surround our upper yard near the lodge for safety. That fenced area is not part of the Sniffspot.

Description

Spring blooms are full, pink camellias! The rhododendrons are starting to bloom, pink, white, red, purple, and orange. Enjoy an enchanting Pacific Northwest rainforest adventure at Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot for Dogs and Their Best Friends - Bring your friends and their dogs too! Unleash your dogs and frolic with your beloved friends in the lush embrace of our hilly Pacific Northwest natural rainforest. Wonderlane invites you and your best pals to explore 67 years of history across 2 acres of established trails, over 9 terraces, under towering old-growth trees, listening to the gentle murmur of a clear creek, accessible by your choice of 2 gates. If you wish maximum security please close the black entrance gate behind you before you park. From the parking area choose your path— the left or right trailhead gates —and meander down Flying Horse Lane or Tail Waggin' Lane to The Landing Pad, where trails weave into playful circles perfect for a game of ‘Hide and Go Seek’ or a chase! At the forest edge, Madhatter Lane invites you to a serene creek, a secret haven at our fully fenced sanctuary. For environmental reasons, the creek area is not fenced. Our hilly forested land, a tapestry of guardrails, fences, gates, natural barriers, rolling trails, springs and creeks, is a haven for play. We recently added a 50 ft long Stick Library! These trails, originally created for horses, have been lovingly reclaimed from invasive brush and dead trees, now fun for paws and feet alike. We’ve nurtured this tranquil forest back to life by planting more than 600 saplings. The canopy of Hemlock, Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, Yew, BigLeaf Maple, and Alder, filled out as soon as there was more light. These trails whisper stories of the past. In the spring flowering bushes bloom from March though May, in the summer lush frilly leaves decorate every breeze with greenery in motion, and in the fall in October the leaves magically turn yellow, orange, red, brown, and purple. Wonderlane is more than a place; it’s an experience—a Sniffspot designed with your dog’s joy in mind. While they dash through wood chips and Pacific Northwest duff, under ferns, and around bends, you’ll enjoy the views of a 20-acre forested wetland, a living vista of nature, and plenty of chairs to sit in. This forest is alive with the songs of songbirds - sparrows, finches, thrushes, grosbeaks, and a host of other birds, such as majestic American Bald Eagles are seen here. Walk, run, or pause on our soft wide well-drained sand or woodchip paths and let the forest’s secrets reveal themselves uniquely to you. We’ve spent more than six years crafting this haven, just a mile from the South Sound, for you and your friends to run, walk, sit, and revel in the company of your pups. And when the day’s adventures are done, two Starbucks await to refresh you, 3 minutes and 5 minutes away - remember puppercinos/pup cups are free. Join our community on Bluesky or Facebook https://bsky.app/profile/wonderlane.bsky.social or https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556216197208 or by searching for “Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot,” or ask a warm and friendly nearby AI to direct your browser to us, to see tails of joy. Wonderlane walks in the woods where nature’s heart beats, inviting you to breathe in the peaceful air, one paw print at a time! If your dog ever hesitates to leave, a ring of the Magic Chuck Waggin’ Triangle will bring them running back. Reminder in summer, or if visiting around twilight bring repellent or wear it when you drop into the forest, and if you choose, onto the creek area. The creek is best for physically fit individuals. If you need assistance or more info, please contact us directly. Keeping Wonderlane pristine is a collective effort, and we value your help in maintaining the beauty of our shared space. Please use the garbage bin marked 'Garbage' at the top driveway entrance for disposal of any waste. Please close the hydrants completely. Press the hydrant water handle all the way down into the completely closed position after use. If the water is not pressed completely closed, water continues to leak out the bottom of the hydrant unseen. Please close each gate. Dogs must be leashed going to and coming from the parking area, and may be unleashed when entering the dog park. We rely upon guests to contact us and tell us immediately if they need anything. To be fully fenced please roll shut the main gate after you park. There are also 2 sets of gates at the top of each trail to the Sniffspot. The forest area is fully fenced, some doubled. There are 2 gates that lead to the creek so you can control access. Please roll the Entrance gate into the open and securely hooked position when you leave, thank you! Enjoy the forest’s magic at Wonderlane. Join us at Bluesky https://bsky.app/profile/wonderlane.bsky.social or Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556216197208 --------------------------------------- Thank you to the many regulars, Sniffpass holders, and new guests who clean up after their dogs so very well! Proud of our community! Thank you for closing hydrants all the way so they do not leak out the bottom and cost us all money! PS if you wonder about the fencing here, some guests want the creek fenced too, which isn't possible due to environmental reasons. *********************************** Created in memory of Rosie Lane, beloved dog. *********************************** If Wonderlane Sniffspot is booked you might LOVE our sister Sniffspot site in the forest right outside Redmond, Washington - Magical Mossy Forest - 5 acres of trails and winter creek. https://www.sniffspot.com/listings/redmond-wa/magical-mossy-forest-69904

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

This Spot is a real Pacific Northwest Rainforest. It rains here frequently. Watch your footing - trails are not even, there are hills, sticks, and pebbles, the occasional tree root on the paths. The trees have branches that may fall in the wind. Some ferns brush up against your legs along the trails. You might have a pant leg grabbed by a branch. Dogs dig holes! In the summer, we have an indigenous leafy green plant growing here called "stinging nettles"! If you grasp will hurt like little needles. It fades away generally without a problem, but it can hurt! In European countries folks use stinging nettles to make a sauna or bath even more refreshing as they vigorously strike their skin with bunches of nettles. I grew up drinking nettle soup. There is no poison ivy or poison oak on this property. There are harmless small green garden snakes that like to sun themselves. During the day you are unlikely to see a raccoon, opossum, skunk, weasel, mouse, squirrel, fox, rabbit which are local to this region. We have never seen a deer, fox, or opossum. Loads of birds. For safety, we request that children and dogs be accompanied when near or in the creek. Sniffspot requests guests please review these guidelines for visiting spots with water: https://help.sniffspot.com/article/167-how-to-keep-your-dog-safe-around-pools-and-water Boots or shoes with sturdy treads are recommended, as are towels for doggies feeties. Please police poo. If you see anything please text us and we'll collect it. It's a big area and sometimes things slip by the most ardent collector! :-) The garbage bin is located at the entrance. PS - If your dog doesn't want to leave, contact me and I'll ring the Magic Chuck Waggin' Triangle, No worries! The signs at the gates leading to creek area indicate the creek is not fenced. It is protected by natural bowl shaped features of the landscape, but it is not part of the fully fenced area. In the summer heat, as suggested by a guest, bring bug repellent, or wear it when you drop into the forest, and if you wish, beyond the gates onto the creek area. If you have questions, please feel free to text or call Linda with any and all questions.

I've lived in great places from Coldfoot, Fairbanks, Homer, Sunrise Island, and Anchorage, Alaska to Boudha, Kathmandu, Nepal to Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta, and Mazatlan, Mexico. My place now is my favorite location I've ever lived in so I thought I'd share it with you! I'm Linda, and I love creatures, especially doggies! My first word was “whuppie” because I couldn’t pronounce “puppy”! Born in Seattle, raised 4th generation Alaskan, from a long-time West Coast family. We are informal here, more friendly, we believe in giving guests privacy. My first dog I captured in the wild with her mom and 3 siblings, rescued them, got them medical care and food, found them all homes, and brought her to Seattle. This Sniffspot was built in her honor. Our current pup was rescued from abuse and flown to Seattle by a rescue team to live happily ever after. sound on - Fresh Air – Breathe In and Let Go https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1006405107666085 House of Dog https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2083861525421703 Your playhouse is my playhouse https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=714120411048724 Pigeon plays classic cello https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1373760303633880 Early morning run https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=647589401238969 Spring Flowers https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1189553252678650 Shopping for adventure https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1321971635536730 Washington Rainforest Groove https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1168444188340701 Is dat Uncle Harry Pop? https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1023055939886190 Grooving Drums https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1736427426946901 Sniff https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1174817487710910 Show me the Good Stuff https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2115908158858746 Swats-it Jazz https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=619206447774012 I Got You Figured Out https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1381447083071376 Ah Gottsa Jump https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=9522817481105216 Spring trillium https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1321971635536730 Classic like dogs https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1562189341133670 Honey Come Back https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1345629673340841 Weather Is Easy Dance https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=653426514106353 Library of Sticks Love https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=630617209785799 Sunset on Winter, Spring Arrives https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=662672613012278 Bluebird Dogs https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1693955311496723 Lovely Drive https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=648000874519641 Where to Take 10 Dogs to Play? https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1578818946122816 What a Fool Believes https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1864749184065633

Katie's 0.5 Acre Fully Fenced Private Dog Park In Tacoma

Fully Fenced
0.5 acres

We have a convenient location in Summit just off of Canyon Road near 512. Our backyard is fully fenced, with a play structure for kids and lots of shade in the summer, but plenty of sunshine too when it’s out. The backyard has a gentle slope that’s easy to navigate, we have comfortable chairs with cushions for hanging out. It’s a dead end street and is pretty quiet all together. The neighbors behind the tall cedar fence have two dogs that can sometimes be heard but not seen. Lots of people walk their dogs on leashes on the main road but it is not very visible from the backyard. We are located really close to an entrance to Orangegate Park with its newly paved and unpaved trails. You’re welcome to leave your car parked here if you’re going to enjoy some on leash time with your dog at Orangegate before or after your visit. We do not have any pets of our own but do have two little people on premises, please let me know if your dog is kid friendly. My kiddos are amazingly respectful, gentle and patient with dogs so would be great kids to introduce your dogs to if you’re trying to get them accustomed to kids.

It is fully fenced and gated although if your dog is small and escape-minded it may do so because it is wire field fence, not board fence. Please park in front of the garage and keep your dog leashed until you reach the pasture area at the back of the property. Enjoy!

2.1 acres of fully-fenced heaven. As a dog owner/lover, this provides a necessary peace of mind. Pull inside the gate, and let ‘em lose! Poop happens typically w/in first 10 mins; bags can be disposed in trash. Hose water available by front door, back patio, and chicken coop area. All areas are fair game once you are inside the gate. Once a stop on the Gig Harbor Garden Tour, this property boasts a variety of terrain to keep your pup(s) busy for hours. We are at the end of a private lane, and the back of the property abuts to 50 acres of DNR. Sightings of cattle, wild peacocks, deer, raccoons and grouse are common. Make yourself (and family) at home around the fire pit, small orchard, tree house, trampoline, flagstone paths and trails. Good shoes highly recommended. NOTE: Sniffspot is promoting their “Sniffpass”, and they have the box automatically checked to “Opt in” when you make a booking. This is out of my control. I do not want my guests to feel Sniffpass is necessary to book my spot. Fully Fenced
0.5 acres

Full fenced .5 acres or more. There is access to water just have to walk to the front of the house and use the house. Please pick up after your dog. My dogs are all rescues and two come from a reservation in Montana and need the space to run and be free but not having a fenced yard wasn’t an option for them. So I hope that my space can be a place for your dogs to all be free and safe!
