Black Dog Farmstead Beach

Welcome to our private beach on the Buffalo River - the ultimate summer SniffSpot! The river is slow moving, clear, shallow and all sand. It is about 1-2 feet deep near our beach, and deeper on the opposite side of the river. In heavy rain, it ebbs and flows in depths. It is a very safe place to wade, play fetch, dig in the sand, teach dogs about water or just hang out on a warm day. You will park and walk to the beach on mowed trails through our woods about 600 feet to the beach. It is completely secluded on a beautiful bend in the river where you will be surrounded by woods. The SniffSpot availability is limited to the beach only, and not the rest of our property.

Zeke's Playground

About 3.5 acres fenced in, some yard, some woods for your dogs to explore. A hiking trail as well. On weekdays we would prefer 4-8 hours notice so we can make sure our dogs are secured in the house. We have dog toys for your use just please return them to the tote after use. Sometimes we have trees fall on our fence, if you see it let us know so we can fix it asap. We recently got a trampoline, due to liability issues, the trampoline is strictly off limits.

Country Sights and Sounds

A beautiful mix of field, woods, and wetland, let your pup(s) run off that energy! The field trail is almost a 0.5 mi loop, but add on an extra trail to get more of your steps in! A short out-and-back path surrounded by tall wetland grass will lead you to a cool, clean segment of Lowes Creek (when it is dry enough for us to mow the trail…boots recommended!). Every season is special and accessible! Perfect, private getaway for your dog to explore off leash! Fully fenced in yard with plenty of places for you to sit. Lots of puppy smells available. Dig defense lining the fence in areas that are susceptible to digging. Dogs must be supervised at all times, and a garbage can & scoop are provided! We lived in an apartment with our reactive dog for two years and know how important that off leash time can be. We look forward to having you explore our backyard! *water hose not available during freezing temps*

Sniff Spot behind Fun Fur Pets, La Crosse (Private Back Play Yard Only)

Bring your furry companions to run, jump and play at the fenced in outdoor play space at the Sniff Spot at Fun Fur Pets in La Crosse. Located at 1404 Green Bay Street, this fun-filled spot offers a complete fenced in yard; sturdy plastic ramp and agility toys; waterspout for refreshing water for your furry friend (please bring your own bowl). Enjoy the sunshine with your pet and let them play in a secure spot today! The Sniff Spot play area is located in the BACK AREA of the building and is NOT the front play yard, as that is used by our boarding dogs daily. You'll go thru two gates to enter the space. Enter the first gate shutting it tightly behind you and then push the second gate forward. Please make sure that you close both gates tightly when you exit the space. ** We are open and accepting bookings on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Years Day. ** 23 acres enclosed with 4' high woven wire fence, a mix of open field and heavy woods, sometimes turkey, grouse, gophers, and bunnies, lots of "sniff therapy"! Private entrance is shaded with easy access right onto the wooded trails! The portapotty and dog rinse station are located in the parking area. We have bug sprays and poop bags at the entrance and the far end of the field for you to use if needed. Special visitation hours or larger groups may be available under prior arrangement. Shoot us a message, and we can usually make larger groups or people traveling to/from dog competitions happen! For those traveling, we might also be able to accommodate visits outside of our normal hours. ***now that we have freezing temps at night, we are not leaving water out in the field.***
