55Great yard and we appreciated the clear directions.
55Just as pictured. They had dog toys and a water bowl prepped for our visit. Our dog loved running around and was tuckered out by the end!
55Beautiful, clean property. The yard is on a bit of a slope so it’s a nice workout for the pup.
55Lots of space for our pups to roam. Was lovely!
55Great spot! So much space for active dogs and multiple large trees to find shade on those hotter days.
55This space was so fun! There were a few different yards to explore. We plan to return.
55Today we visited Montana's 5 acre fully fenced dog park in Camas, Washington. Definitely a must visit sniff spot! This spot has 3 fields. We used field #1 the closet to the entry gate. This large grassy field with a nice slope is perfect for us. We have 3 Greyhounds that love to run full speed. This field gives them a nice work out and us a nice quiet evening. Fields 2 and 3 are huge! They're great for pups that have good hearing and recall skills. Not our Greyhounds, they have the attention span of gnats. Montana's dog park is super clean and well maintained with beautiful scenery all around. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to our next visit.
55Our first time at this Sniffspot and it was wonderful! The dogs really enjoyed themselves (and my friend and I did too!) and we all appreciated the water and toys. We'll be back next spring!
55Beautiful property. Directions were very clear. Host was great at communicating. My boy had lots of fun!
55This was our first visit, so we came prepared with water, bowl, balls and poop bags. It was all supplied. Great safe spot for my trio of boys. Hoping to get back before the 21st October.

Description

Closing October 21st for winter. Kiddy pool has a hole in it, so will be unusable until further notice! Please read ALL descriptions (including photos) before entering property. Return the toys and balls to where you found them, to the best of your ability. 5 acres is a lot of ground to cover, and if I have to round everything up after you visit, you will be blocked. Losing a ball or three is no big deal, it happens lol, but not picking up after yourself is rude. Please leave the place as you found it. Don’t knock on my doors, and do not ask me for my phone number. We have 3 separate fields. Black berry bushes are very present in all fields. FIELD 1: Closest to busy road, least suitable for free-roam incase of delivery or neighbor utilizing third gate on easement. I consider this field “the buffer zone”. Best suited for dogs with proper recall skills, or for those who want to hide biodegradable items in the rock piles to be found. Orange flags indicate boundaries with a buffer to prevent trespassing onto neighboring property back into the woods. There are times when I have to leave or enter the property, which I will notify you if this is to happen during your visit. Our three dogs will be heard from this field (from inside of the house). You will find the 2nd gate entrance here, into field 2. Look for the black garbage can, as well as blue kiddy pool to navigate to field 2. FIELD 2: the best field! Our backyard. It is completely fenced in, private, and safe for dogs 15lbs and up- smaller dogs such as our 9lb dog need to wear a device to recall because fencing is large enough for them to escape through. The fencing is approximately 3’ high. Horses can be seen from this field on neighbor’s property, along with their dog, Cooper. It is sloped, which is excellent for exercise! There are trees blocking our house and windows for privacy, easy gate access, and accessible water. There is a nice view of Mt. Hood, and a couple of log benches around the property. I try my best to maintain and refresh a kiddy pool and the water bowl. I strongly recommend against use of field 3 during foggy periods for safety of your pets. Should a dog without proper recall training decide to wander off in field 3, you will have a LOT of ground to cover without much sight distance (on foggy days). Water access is in field 1 by the house, please turn off with hose in “on” position to prevent built-up water pressure in the hose. Field 3: this is an excellent field for dogs with recall skills. Through the first two fields, is field 3, a property long and flat, one which openly borders our neighbor’s property. You must go through the gate at the bottom of field 2 to enter this field. While this field is technically entirely fenced, the entire property is not all ours, so we have marked boundaries using orange flags. Please reference photos for what these orange boundary flags look like. The orange flags indicate hazards along fence line, entrance to bee hives, and boundaries between properties. Cautions: Coyotes frequent this lower field on a weekly basis, so large dogs with proper recall training are advised only. I strongly recommend against use of this field during foggy periods for safety of your pets. Should a dog without proper recall training decide to wander off, you will have a LOT of ground to cover without much sight distance. Also, coyotes tend to be more active during these foggy periods. This field (field 3) is a split property (2 parcels), half ours, half theirs. The neighboring owners have bee hives! Please be mindful of bees, and maintaining general boundaries (see photos of orange flags designating boundary lines). It’s quite rugged, so be mindful of wild animal scat, mole holes, and uneven grass. There is a digging area here too. I have seen coyotes, skunks, deer, owls, a feral cat, and bunnies in this field. Horses and neighbor dog cooper are sometimes visible. Please contact me with any questions!

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

Please read all descriptions. Coyotes in lowest field in early mornings and evenings. Lower field (field 3) is not ideal for small dogs. You may bring them, however be extra cautious of birds of prey, and note that the fencing holes may allow your smaller dog to slip through. The lower field is divided into two open parcels, half of which is owned by folks who do not live there. The wooded area bordering their property on the west side of the lot is likely home to coyotes, so small dog owners must take caution. We do have a coyote vest for dogs 16-27lbs upon request. Photos show accessible areas with debris. Please read all photo descriptions.

Extras

Coyote Vest$5

We have a coyote vest available for smaller dogs 20-30lbs. It is vibrant hunter’s orange, which helps spotting smaller dogs from afar, and provides some level of protection in the lower field against potential predators.

My husband and I love aviation, and travel often with our infant and three dogs! We bought this property to have some privacy on morning walks, and recently decided it would be a wonderful place to share with other fur-babies :)!

Nature in the City Private Dog Park

Nature in the City is a unique Private Dog Park that is 1 1/2 acres of beautiful natural land with varied landscapes. Step out of the city and into our natural setting that features different areas including 2 grassy fields perfect for fetch w/discs, ropes, or toys, (balls are not best here due to all of the surrounding bushes), a couple of forested areas, a tall grassy wetland-like area, several nature trails for hiking adventures where your dog(s) can explore, run & feel free, and a healthy little creek that’s a hit with the pups. They can wade, cool off, and drink from the natural water. Your dogs will have so many different sniffing and secure off-leash exploring opportunities here! Our spot is so much more than just a fenced field! The area is diverse and so much fun for your dog(s)! This is a great spot to work on recall. There are a couple areas on the trails that are a little steep, there’s a trail where you have to walk on logs 🪵, and the little creek has to be stepped over, so people with limited mobility may have issues in these areas of the spot. There are plenty of spaces and trails that are suitable for all abilities. If you’re looking for a basic fenced field to play chuck-it then this probably isn’t your spot. We are continually working on our property, so every time you visit it will have more open space, more trails, and the blackberry bushes will be trimmed back. We provide a rain/sun shelter with 4 foldable chairs and lots of supplies including dog toys & balls, poop bags, hand sanitizer, natural bug spray, wipes, hand towels, first aid kit, and a cornhole yard game. Located outside are 2 zero-gravity reclining chairs, a kids size picnic table, and fresh drinking water for your pups. There are open areas with sun ☀️, and there is shade all day due to many large trees. Our property is fully secure with 5 to 6 ft fencing. We walk the fence line regularly and check to make sure it’s secure. We are located close-in on the Westside of Vancouver one mile from I-5 on 78th Street in West Hazel Dell near Felida. *It gets muddy in areas when it has been wet/raining outside. Come prepared so you enjoy your visit. **We just added 6 solar flood lights in the main field area for those of you who need to visit after dark. They light up the entryway, main field, and the shelter. Thank you!
