This space was created with Jesús (Catahoula Pit) in mind—a dog who, like many others, couldn’t comfortably go to many places. Because of that, my goal was to create a safe, welcoming environment where dogs can truly be dogs. Our yard is thoughtfully designed to support nose work and enrichment, using dog-safe plants and scent containers that are rotated and refreshed regularly. The space already includes a variety of toys and enrichment activities for dogs to enjoy. At this time, there is an area where dogs may naturally dig and play, which is perfectly fine while ongoing improvements continue. A water hose is available inside the yard, and a dog pool is available for guest use. Guests may fill the pool as needed during their visit. If used, please drain, rinse, and lightly spray it, so it is ready for the next guest. For hygiene reasons, guests are kindly asked to bring their own water bowls. Bringing your own helps ensure cleanliness and allows each dog to use familiar items, especially since the host is not always present to sanitize shared equipment between visits. With the continued support of our guest community, additional amenities may be added or rotated —particularly to enhance comfort during very hot or very cold days.
