55What a treat! This was our first time at Grass Valley Farms, and the host was clear and friendly with directions, and how to find fun spots to explore in this diverse and expansive area! Our dogs were SO happy and explored in wooded areas, in shady groves, old homesteads and barns, the creek and cattails, and rolled in the cool grass. It was fun for us humans too! Dylan S.

55This visit was great! No resident dogs in sight until we left and that dog was way up on its property and didn’t notice us at all. Dogs had a wonderful romp! Dylan S.

55This was our first time testing out Sniffspot and was not disappointed! Cory was great instructing me where we can go and it was perfect. We spent the hour rooming the plains and fetching the frisbee. It was peaceful and quiet. It was nice to have some time to relax with Remy off leash and not have to be on the constant lookout for off leash dogs. We'll be back again!Stephanie S.

55If you don’t have a car that’s good in the snow, I would not attempt the drive! We did just fine in our AWD vehicle, but the snow is piling up on the road to the hip camp and could be an issue for others!
Otherwise, we had a blast playing in the snow! Always a fan favorite to come by!Courtney B.

55Beautiful area. Road very accessible in summer when dry or if frozen (like today) and definitely year round if you have a 4x4. Not sure how well a small 2-wd car would do during spring thaw as road looks like it could get soft.
Area itself is gorgeous. Exactly what my girls and I needed after a hectic Christmas. There was a small herd of cattle within the area, but they are very respectful of humans/dogs as long as humans/dogs are respectful of them. We diverted away from the herd (as I didn't want to chance an interaction) and went down a road to the water trough to find a single heifer. She was as curious about my dogs as they were of her, but their leave-it command is solid and there were no issues, but something to be aware of.
I will be back!Kim G.

55We absolutely loved it! Gorgeous land for our dogs to run. There's so much land you feel very secluded but it's close enough to town that it's accessible. Thank you for making that land available! Jenifer K.

55Such a beautiful space! Like mentioned, it is quite expansive, so I kept my overly confident runner on a long lead. She still had a great time frolicking with her sisters through the tall grasses. We’ll definitely be back! :)Jess H.

55Wonderful place to get exercise for your pup! It’s like your own private mini hiking hill. I have a very anxious dog and did not have to worry about anything during this hour, my dog absolutely loved this place. Plus, the views are beautiful! One thing to note, wear pants and long sleeves. A few of the switchbacks near the bottom are not quite cleared out so you are kind of making your own path through tumbleweeds. But not difficult to get through. Definitely worth it, will be back!Jaci R.

55What a gorgeous morning! We saw a coyote this morning! Far enough away that our dog didn’t see it but we called her to us anyway and held her till it trotted out of sight. We absolutely love this place. Dylan S.

FAQ About Missoula Dog Parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 16% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Missoula area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 12 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 32 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
