55I wish I could give Carrie more than 5 stars. I know there was a previous review where someone wasn’t thrilled about her staying in the yard during bookings so I wanted to make sure to highlight the benefits of her doing so.
I adopted my dog Barney 2 years ago when he was 4 and as far as I know he’s never been fully submerged in any body of water. I actually didn’t think he would get in today and without Carrie being out there with us he very likely wouldn’t have. She worked with me the entire time to try and get him in on his own. Her being there gave me the confidence to finally lift him fully into the water towards the end of the booking based on his body language and how much he was willing to try on his own. And he swam!! Having her there was basically like having a trainer there with me. She was so informative but she was also very supportive of how I wanted to approach the process with him. She even got in the water with us! But I also know that she would have been hands off if we were more experienced and didn’t want the extra help. This is a super unique experience for people to have access to and her monitoring sessions makes complete sense to me given the liability. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Natasha Z.

55Lucy & Jasper had a fantastic time! The pool & dock are brand new and super nice! The area around the pool is completely fenced in which is SUPER nice. The owner does hang out but that’s understandable given the liable that comes with the pool. She’s SUPER nice and LOVES dogs.Whitney S.

I brought my 2-year old shepherd to swim for the very first time, and it couldn’t have gone better! Carrie was absolutely wonderful! She offered great advice and assistance to help him adjust to the water. He was swimming on his own in no time and having a blast. He even started retrieving his toys. The grounds were well maintained, safe and clean. Highly recommend to anyone looking to have their dog go swimming!

FAQ About Burton Dog Parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
