55We loved checking out this Sniffspot! Both my dogs, Crux and Jake, had a wonderful time. Crux loved jumping in and out of the pond while Jake sniffed and bayed at the other animals. Here are some things you should know to make sure this is the right place for you:
1. There are other animals on the property. They are not in the same location as your dogs will be, but they were nearby. We’ve never let our dogs around horses and sheep before, so it was interesting to see what they would do.
2. It’s completely fenced in, but small dogs could potentially get through the gates. My dogs are 33 and 44 pounds and couldn’t, but it is possible if you have a small dog.
3. Apple Maps took us down a very sandy road coming in (think dry beach sand). We didn’t get stuck, but Archer let us know that there’s a better way going out that takes us to Spring Garden. That way was paved and a lot easier. We will take that way in next time.
4. There was a chair to sit in and relax, and there was also a hose if you needed water, but we didn’t need either of them. For the most part, it’s a big open area (minus the small area around the barn) and I just walked around while my dogs played.

Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks.
