55We had such a lovely time here! Accessing the spot and parking was easy, and our dogs had the time of their lives navigating the trails and running through the field. The area after you cross the creek was super fun for our dogs, and we can’t wait to come back again. I wish we were there longer, can’t wait for our next visit - definitely our favorite sniffspot & worth the drive!Leritza R.

55We drove 40 minutes to get here and I am SO glad we did! Explored the field and headed back to the river to cool off. We hiked the woods behind the creek then went up the creek and everything was marked really well. Even after we walked quite a ways down the creek it was still marked with trails heading back up to the main area. It was honestly heaven being able to be here (and around water especially!) without having to swivel my head around all over to make sure there’s no other dogs. My reactive pup thanks you and we can’t wait to come back!Briella V.

55I’ve been bringing my Dog Camp to Sandra’s land for over a year now (multiple times per week) and it never disappoints. A few of my client dogs are reactive to strangers so having the opportunity for them to run freely and explore is priceless. Sandra has been kind and communicative throughout our visits over the past year! 🤍Lily M.

55We absolutely love walking the fields and all the paths through the woods. Our Shepherd loves to run to the creek and take a dip. 100 acres is one of her happiest places. We are so grateful for the opportunity to walk there regularly.Heidi B.

55Thank you so much for opening up your property to us and our three dogs. The land was absolutely amazing!!! Our dogs had huge smiles the whole time as they roamed around freely, enjoying the magnificent grounds and,of course, the beautiful creek. We will definitely be back again…. And again. 55It is always fun to see how the seasons change at this property. It is really winter now. Hoping for snow. And so are the dogs! The stream may be harder to cross now but we intend to try on a less chilly day.Eva Marie D.

55The creek is very low now, which makes crossing more doable. Try it! We have endless fun on our treks across the creek, up the hills, and back over again. BIG bonus: Many of the marked trails are raked/cleared of leaves, making the walk more accessible. Our pup knows this place well now, and comes back from his sniffs tired and happy.

FAQ About Ghent Dog Parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 17% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Ghent area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 125 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 275 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
