There are houses that border the property so if your dogs are wanderers who don’t always listen well you would want to keep them away from the borders. We were there for an hour and it was perfect! There are gently rolling hills and plenty of shade on the periphery of the field as well as near the pond. There were some geese in the pond when we visited, they weren’t thrilled when we got close but they weren’t mean and just honked at us. 55The only sniff spots I use are when I’m traveling and I always chose spots with larger acreage which tend to be unfenced (my dogs have well-trained recalls). I use the spots for either hiking or retriever field training. My favorite spots have varied terrain and also a safe pond for swimming and water training. This is definitely one of my favorites. I did not have time to let my dogs use the pond yesterday since I stayed in the front field for retriever training drills but before leaving I did take a walk back to look at the pond and plan to rent this Sniffspot on the way home and spend some additional time using the pond.
This spot was absolutely wonderful (I wish it was close to where I live as I’d visit all the time). It is a great spot to practice retriever training as it has a pond and fields with terrain. I will definitely be back whenever I’m taking a trip up to the Albany area. Martha W.
