55Beautiful spot. Lots of room for our pup to run around and play. Flags and signage were clear to guide us where to go. Tics were out and we caught a few on our legs (no fault of 41 acres, tis the season!), make sure to check yourselves when you leave. The path is on a slope with an uphill walk on the way back, be ready for a workout! Will definitely be back. Alyssa Y.

55The ponies are far enough away from where you need to park & walk that most reactive dogs might be fine. You could probably dodge them all together, maybe… but they are close enough that they are noticeable to vigilant dogs. Then there’s a pond just a bit past that, which is host to loud frogs. Not a huge deal unless you have a noise sensitive dog. This was my 1yr old Doberman’s first visit to “the countryside”. She was suspicious of the ponies and thought I was INSANE for wanting to walk closer to the sound of death that frogs *clearly* signify. There were too many new things for the kind of dog she is to be able to let loose and enjoy. We will definitely be back as this was an excellent training opportunity in a safe place!Jessica C.

55I loved our time at this location! The pink flags made it very easy to follow the trail. We did a perfect loop on about an hour. This space is gorgeous and we had such a good time letting our pup off the leash with no worries of other dogs.
Tick season is very bad in Ohio this year. We found a total of 19 ticks between my husband, my self and our dog. We were prepared for this and were able to not have any bites, and our dog takes his flea meds so we are not worried about it but this is not exclusive to this location!! It’s true any time you are in the woods in our area.Jes M.

55Great hike along the power lines with a natural pond for a quick dip. It reminded us of Dog Mountain back in Vermont. The hike back up the hill was good exercise and may be more manageable with walking sticks next time but we had plenty of time to recover from the walk while the dogs enjoyed a swim in the pond. The dogs had a great time and the humans enjoyed it too. Valerie L.

55Great sniff spot! My dog really enjoyed it. Host was friendly and communicated well with all the info we needed.
Flags around the property were super helpful. It did take us a little to find the wood entrance but once we did, it was clearly marked. My dog had never seen mini horses and she was obsessed!!
We definitely will be back! Erika C.

55The property is nice and open. The only problem we had is not realizing we were so out of shape and would have a hard time walking up the hill after we went all the way down. Our GSD loved the property, though JEG X.

55We had a lovely time! We haven’t visited since winter and it was fun to see it so differently in the spring with all the fields growing and the brush in the woods. Just a heads up to make sure your dogs are on some kind of tick prevention anytime you’re hiking in natural wooded areas, so you can enjoy it without the worry. Such a fun place to visit and highly recommend!! There have always been two mini-horses when we have gone and this time there was a cow which we loved seeing (fenced in of course, and we didn’t disturb her, but so cool!). Again, worth checking out especially if your dogs are good off leash!! Savannah H.

55Loved it here! Plenty of open space to throw balls or frisbees for your dog to run around. The wood trail was a nice hike and the creek was a good spot for the dogs to lay in and cool down. 10/10 will be back Nicole G.

FAQ About Milford Dog Parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 17% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Milford area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 251 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 412 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
