I will not put on the kiddy pool on days when it will be less than 60 degrees during your visit unless specifically requested, which you are welcome to do. Look for the big rock with the address number on it, come all the way up the driveway, park near the basketball hoop, then bring the dog(s) through the gate between the barn and the house. Please note one section of the yard has chickens. They are well protected in a sturdy coop; your dog(s) won’t be able to get to them. But if you are worried about their reactivity, that section of the yard is in the back, and it will start off with the gate closed, your dog won’t see them. But if you’re not worried about it or unsure, you’re welcome to open the gate to that portion of the yard, the chickens will still be secured.

We also rent out our kayaks and a canoe. The canoe does have a small leak, so it will get water in it slowly. We treat the pond throughout the year with pond dye and algaecide as well as muck away. We also aerate it occasionally with the fountain. This is a pond though, if your pets jump in, they will get muddy, and they will smell like a pond, so please take that into account if you plan to let them swim. I put filtered water out before you comefor your pets to drink. The pond water is not for drinking. If you are a Karen, go somewhere else. I do this to let others enjoy my property. The little money from sniffspot doesn't even help with maintenance. Our Sniffspot has been referred to as Dog Heaven. We are in a remote area in the Appalachian Foothills of SE Ohio. We have farm roads, mowed trails and open fields you and your dog can enjoy, but the favorite place for most dogs is our pond. Our pond features a dock that dogs love to jump off of. There is also a large covered pavilion with tables and chairs. A basket of water toys is next to the dock. There is an outhouse there and well, it is primitive, but clean (unless the mice make nests, but I try to keep ahead of that) In dry weather the pond is accessible by vehicle but it is also a good walk for people and dogs, about 1/2 a mile from the parking area (and mostly uphill). This pavilion also has our "Sugar Shack" attached, which is where we boil down maple sap in February and March to make syrup. The Maple Grove is up a trail above the pond. **My dogs swim in this pond most days in the spring, summer & fall. The pond has an aerator and also is treated with Pond Blue, both of which help to eliminate the possibility of dangerous algae blooms. There is also no fertilization of fields that could run off into the pond. **
