Our property sits 1200+ feet off of the main road and is a total of 28 acres. There are neighboring properties that are 50 acres and 80 acres so no close homes in most directions. We are located approximately 1 mile from West Branch State Park. The property has a clean swimming pond, a walkable forest area with some established trails that are currently covered with leaves. We are a working farm with about 8 acres of crops. There is a large 3 acre wheat field in the front great for ball throwing. The remaining non crop acres are walking paths with some cut grass and yard. We do not have any livestock but our neighbors have cows. There is a secure fence on one side of our property that keeps the cows in their pasture. They’ve never visited us! Neighboring properties are also farms with over 100 acres of open land, woods and crops surrounding our property with no main or visible roads. You can see houses on one side of the property and that’s where the cows live! They have dogs but they’ve never visited us. We do have 2 well behaved German Shorthaired Pointers named River and Remmy who run freely on the property. However we will keep them inside when guests use the property. We have a bench to sit on in a shaded area around the pond for relaxing. The woods are beautiful to walk about as well. There is a large rock in the woods to take a rest on with an amazing ravine creek view. Our property is large and not fenced so dogs with impeccable recall should enjoy the freedom to play, run, swim, sniff and explore. Leashed walks are also welcome. Long leads can also be used. Because we are so far off of any main roads you will feel comfortable here! Your pups are welcome to swim in the pond during your visit. During recent rains our property stays mainly dry and the woods are relatively dry as well as there are many leaves covering the ground. In the winter when the ground is frozen it’s a beautiful walk.

Trails throughout, 3 acre lake, fenced in 24 acres. So much to do and explore. This is a natural area including woods and lake. Recall is still important. A great spot for recall training. We check fence regularly the best we can and I run 4x4 each morning to try and move out any wildlife. However It is such a large space if your pup does not stick with you. There could be times during day when we may miss if a critter has dug out under fence or branch has fallen. You know your dog(s) so use your best judgement if you feel they will be safe. It really is such an awesome space, we have learned after buying it is actually an old sandstone rock quarry! You will see lots a rocks throughout trails. Please watch steps for rocks and roots on trails. We have a small farmyard with ducks, chickens and pigs. They are fenced in their own area. Main trail in woods comes out behind the farm. If you are unsure of how dogs will react please leash while passing to ensure safety of all. Beautiful spot to walk your dog and let them sniff. If your dog is brave and likes swimming without a gradual incline in this would be the perfect spot. The drive away is a nice spot to walk, just be careful for the neighbors Great Dane that appeared to be free roaming towards the part of the driveway by the road. As others mentioned, you could hear the resident dogs barking a little bit upon arrival but it didn’t last long nor was very loud. Access to the river looked a bit difficult to get to so we stayed away from that.

We had a great time. The dogs loved being off lead running and exploring. I never felt concerned about the lack of fence, the property is set far enough off the road that it really was nothing I worried about. I did picked up after the dogs and ended up. as I did not see anywhere to dispose of it, taking it away with me. It was very muddy, but it’s winter, been raining recently so I was expecting it and prepared accordingly. Thank you we had a wonderful time, and will be back. (I did not think to take a photo, we were having too much fun!)

My golden retriever, Miko, loved visiting this beautiful property. He enjoyed hiking in the woods, playing in the creek, and swimming in the pond. I enjoyed being able to walk him off leash and practice his recall abilities without fear of other people, dogs, or traffic. Being that a large portion of the property is in the woods, be prepared for a little mud; but that just adds to the pup's fun, right!? A little rinse off in the pond before heading home cleaned it all off. And the owner even offered a towel to dry off my dog- now that's service. I will say that since this is private property and not a park, it will only get better as the trails are more defined. I did lose my way and got lost in the woods so I would encourage anyone visiting to bring their iphone to rely on their compass and navigation system to get them back to the house. As we visit more, which we definitely will do, it will get better as I start to learn my way around and get my bearings. Sorry no pics; we were having too much fun!
