The Sniffspot venue is a 3 acre fully fenced area that you and your dog will have unsupervised, exclusive use of for the time that you have booked. There, you will find fresh filtered (RO) water for your canine companions, an abundance of toys, Chuckit balls and launchers, including guest supplies and other listed amenities. The entire farm is 36 fenced acres. For anyone interested, I will gladly provide supervised walks around the entire property for additional psychological enrichment at no additional cost. Note: Palmhill is a working organic farm. There may be an occasional worker sighting, but absolutely no reason for any employee to ever interact with a guest or their dogs. My interests lie in offering an affordable, stress-free, large, safe, clean, offleash venue for guests and their canine companions. Thanks to an awesome group of guests who have been with us since first opening the venue, this has been a very rewarding experience. However, there have been, a few guests who have not been doing a very good job of cleaning up after their own dogs which makes it very unpleasant for the guests who come in to the venue next. I have many visitors who pick up dog droppings of other people's dogs and don't say a word, and also return toys and balls to the recepticles, but they shouldn't have to! I actually had a guest say to me once, "Oh, I thought you had people to do that!" No, everyone is responsible for cleaning up after themselves before they leave the field. That's how we keep the venue tidy and affordable! I don't think that's an unreasonable expectation. I've had to post a list of reminders at the venue, (thank you, Michele) which I feel terrible about because they're not relevant for the MAJOROTY of Palmhill's guests. It's just a handful of mostly newer guests who aren't being very team friendly. I've met some awesome people and even more so awesome dogs, but sorry to say, if you don't play fair, you will be asked not to come back to this venue. Everyone is welcome including, large groups, highly reactive dogs, special needs dogs- dogs with anxiety, physical handicaps, previous dog park trauma dogs, etc. We love them all and will do our best to make everyone feel welcome! If your dogs don't have solid recall, stick to the fenced side. The whole place is so big, you shouldn't have a problem getting a good amount of walking/running in, without coming too close to the un-fenced side. I walked around for about 2 miles, and I'm guessing my dogs probably did twice that 😆 The host was nice and allowed extra time, because I took a wrong turn coming there and was late to my booked time. One of the best places to let your active dog just run and release energy without having to worry if they’re going to sneak out or run away (like mine do). I’ve brought my own 2 very big reactive dogs (squirrels and other critters) who watch and can’t get to them because of how great the fencing is. I’ve brought 3 different foster dogs (very small and skinny to bigger) and I never worry about the safety there. I just let them run. The sitting area is perfect to just relax and let the dogs do their thing. The only bad part about this location is when your dog poops on the other side of the field and you have to go find it. Hahaha!! 😂

This was a spectacular spot! This is my favorite Sniffspot so far. I have a reactive dog and it was perfect for her. Caren was so sweet and accommodating. She made sure to send photos and instructions on how to access the spot. It was a little bit out of the way in Valley Center, but it was very much worth it. The views are amazing and the spot is very clean. She provides fresh water, waste bags and toys among other various things like hand sanitizer, etc. I mentioned that I have a reactive dog and it was so interesting because Caren was on the other side of the fence, and usually my dog would be barking nonstop, but my dog did not order her! I suspect she is a dog whisperer of some sort 😆 I will definitely be going back!

What a wonderful host! Caren is a beautiful soul and shared her ranch with us. Koa and Lady loved the spot and ran around the 3 acres non-stop. Caren provided three buckets of fresh water, numerous toys, shaded seating, bug spray and sun screen, as well as wipes and hand sanitizer. Note: she may invite you around her property, if your dogs can’t be recalled or have a problem with farm animals, don’t accept the invite. Caren recently had issues with dogs being aggressive with livestock, don’t put her in that position. The rest of the dog community needs to experience her wonderful Sniffspot. Thank you Caren!

Wonderful safe spacious yard. Easy to find & paved parking. Nice hosts. Variated terrain, gently sloping with lots of room for a large dog to run and explore. Everything is well-fenced, areas that are off limits are completely fenced off. There was a lot of dog poop in several large-ish sections of the yard on our visit, but it was a very rainy wet day, So I doubt anyone reall wanted to be on poop duty! There was a pooper scooper and bottle of water with a dog bowl by the gate. Very glad to have this new spacious sniff spot close to home, Thank you to the hosts. We'll be back.

This was our second visit and we had a great time playing hide and seek and running around. Huge, fun safe yard Hosts messaged me after my first visit (which was during the heavy rain), apologizing for all the dog poop in the backyard as they had just returned from out of town and did not know the dog sitter hadn't cleaned up after the dogs.

Are dog fields safe?

If you are looking for an adventure, but also looking for safety, Sniffspot dog fields are a great option. While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, distracted dog owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private space for just you and doggy friends you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). Especially for training, privacy is ideal. How do I know if a dog field works for my dog?

You can even check the park amenities chart for amenities such as indoor training facilities, agility field, synthetic turf, exercise balls or field parking availability in advance. If inclement weather is an issue or poor field conditions, you can reschedule your visit up to 2 hours in advance.

What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog field?

We require that all four-legged friends have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. Make sure to check host rules before visiting to ensure, for instance, that you are following allowable sports activities rules and any special events rules.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot field at the same time as me?

No. Facility rentals are for private play time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the area during visits, so this is perfect for a private adventure for you and your doggie friends, and perhaps a human friend. Hosts understand that many guests have dogs in training and are nervous owners. So when you book a Sniffspot dog field you have the entire private spot to yourself. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between time slots so you will not run into other guest dogs or a previous person when coming or leaving in the field parking area. Some hosts may have multiple fields, but there is always a buffer between fields.
