55Absolutely unbelievable. You have to go there and experience being on the property to truly understand how special this place is. We could have spent our entire day here. What a dream come true and such an incredible thing to share with others! So, well worth the little road trip from the city and the extra time spent there. Don't book for less than 2 hours. We did get a little lost! But easy to follow our footsteps back and mostly due to following my wanderlust dogs. Vala L.

55We loved this magical spot! Doing just the exterior loop took us over an hour. Sonata is also so thoughtful leaving out water and treats for the dogs, toys to borrow, and more. We’ll be back soon!Brettany J.

55What a wonderful sniffspot! This was my dog's first time around water and she had a blast bobbing for sticks in the dugout. Beautiful trails and lots of open space for dogs to run. The horses are visible from a couple spots but it was easy to stay out of sight so that my dog didn't react. If your dog is a poop eater you will have to watch them closely as there are lots of horse turds around - thankfully my dog wasn't interested in it. We booked 1.5 hours and I would definitely recommend that; or more! Kalena B.

55I’ve been meaning to come to this Sniffspot for a while and finally booked it! It was worth the drive from Edmonton - I booked 1.5 hours to be able to explore. My dog had the best time! The map was helpful and goggle maps satellite view works if you need to orient yourself on the map. If your dog is a swamp creature like mine they’ll have a great time in the boggy water. Also - if your dog eats poop there’s lots of horse, elk & moose droppings so something to keep in mind! Erica F.

55We had the best experience! Sonata provides clear and helpful information for your first visit and even graciously offers every amenity dog parents would need. Our dogs had an amazing time sniffing and exploring (and swimming - who knew Irish Wolfhounds were water dogs!). Carolyn P.

Trail around the perimeter of the property with lights, but forest is too packed for dogs to run through. small grassy area in the back and larger grassy area in the front with agility equipment. 55This place .... Magic. ✨ I love sniffspots, been to a few, and there is NO PLACE around here like this. My husband, dachshund and I had an absolute blast!!! It is very big, very expansive .... And yet so reasonably priced. I can't even adequately explain how large this place is. Peaceful and just gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your spot with us! We will be back. Pro tip: book 90 mins. You're going to need it! Jane M.

FAQ About Carvel Dog Parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 1% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Carvel area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 69 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 84 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
Does Carvel have any fully fenced dog parks?
