Nature in the City is a unique Private Dog Park that is 1 1/2 acres of beautiful natural land with varied landscapes. Step out of the city and into our natural setting that features different areas including 2 grassy fields perfect for fetch w/discs, ropes, or toys, (balls are not best here due to all of the surrounding bushes), a couple of forested areas, several nature trails for hiking adventures, a wetland-like area with a healthy little creek that’s a hit with the pups. They can wade, cool off, and drink from the natural water. Your dogs will have so many different sniffing and secure off-leash exploring opportunities here! Our spot is so much more than just a fenced field! The area is diverse and so much fun for your dog(s)! This is a great spot to work on recall. There are a couple areas on the trails that are a little steep, there’s a trail where you have to walk over logs 🪵, and the little creek has to be stepped over in places, so people with limited mobility may have issues in these areas of the spot. There are plenty of spaces and trails that are suitable for all abilities. If you’re looking for a basic fenced field to play chuck-it then this probably isn’t your spot. We are continually working on our property, so every time you visit you will see improvements! We provide a rain/sun shelter with 4 foldable chairs (message us in advance if you need more chairs and we’ll put them out for you), and lots of supplies including dog toys & balls, poop bags, hand sanitizer, natural bug spray, wipes, hand towels, first aid kit, and a cornhole yard game. Located outside are 2 zero-gravity reclining chairs, a kids size picnic table, and fresh drinking water for your pups. There are open areas with sun ☀️, and there is shade all day due to many large trees. Our property is fully secure with 5 to 6 ft fencing. We walk the fence line regularly and check to make sure it’s secure. We are located close-in on the Westside of Vancouver one mile from I-5 on 78th Street in West Hazel Dell near Felida. *It gets muddy in areas when it has been wet/raining outside. We have recently put down wood chips along trails and in muddy areas which help a lot! Come prepared so you enjoy your visit. **We recently added 6 solar flood lights in the main field area for those of you who visit after dark. They provide subtle light at the entryway, main field, and the shelter for about 4-5 hrs after it gets dark outside. If you you want to explore the trails after dark we recommend putting a collar light on your dog(s), and that you bring headlamps and flashlights 🔦. ***We recently added a small bridge over the middle section of the creek! Welcome! We offer a 1 acre, fenced spot for your dog(s) to run, play, dog, sniff and bark! **Please see pic showing details of road work. Sept 3-Oct 11** Beautiful views and farm animal neighbors add to the fun. Shade trees and seating make this spot fun for all! Long and short grass *currently approx 1/3 mowed, the rest is a field of high grass. There is a trail mowed around outside a few through center*, slight hills, a sand pile and dirt to dig in too! We are a farm animal sanctuary and wildlife friendly. There may be long grass, insects, farm animal poo and other farmy stuff. Fun smell things such as feathers, wool, horse hair etc is added for dogs to sniff. All is cruelty free. WINTER: Seasonal pond takes up the lower portion of the spot. It may grow and shrink throughout the season. Dogs love it! Ground will likely be soggy but we will close if entrance becomes unsafe. SUMMER: During warm weather there is a 9’ stock tank pool (not filtered) for dogs. One adult may accompany each dog but please no children. >> Please note! Perimeter fence was replaced and spot now includes additional space! There are more trees and brush included for your dogs sniffing pleasure. Please use caution, there are some new trip hazards and holes. We have walked this multiple times but things may continue to work their way out of the exposed earth. Fully fenced double lot (1/4 acre). There are frequent deer sightings, as well as squirrels and birds. We have 2 dogs as well, so there are plenty of toys laying around in the yard, as well as a sprinkler and a dog pool that can be used. Feel free to come and sit in the chairs on the deck and throw a ball for your dog. There is a ramp for ease of access for older dogs, though there are 2 steps that they would need to climb to get up to the covered deck. The dog water bowl is on the deck.

Our spot was designed and built specifically to help keep pets in their homes. We are a search and rescue that deals with hard cases and know what its like to have dogs that can’t be around other dogs, animals or people. This spot is dedicated to those dogs in an effort to help keep them active and happy at home so their families don’t have to give them up or have them end up in a shelter. All proceeds from this sniffspot go directly to I Paw’d It Forward's mission of keep families together.

This is my personal yard and is probably between 800-1000 square feet. It’s all grass as of right now but we are in the process of adding cement tiles and planting a tree in the middle of the yard soon. Please pick up after your dog and feel free to just kick back and relax to enjoy some time with your pup.

WARNING FOR 5/17-5/19: The airshow is going on this weekend and many of the planes fly directly over our house which can be incredibly loud. The show goes from 12:30p to about 4p-4:30p but I don’t know if they’ll be practicing before and/or after. This may be scary to some dogs. If you’d still like to come, I suggest bringing ear plugs 😉 If you come and it doesn’t work out then we can set another time for you to come and I’ll make sure that you don’t get charged again. Note: If you stay longer than 1/2 the time you’ve reserved then it will be assume that it did work out for you and you will not be given a rescheduled time at no charge. Pet the friendly pig Nala she's in a secure area. Both are fully fenced! (Outside water is shut off in the winter) due to pipes freezing. PLEASE use back pasture too where the logs are at!! (Besides the chicken/pig area) Go through the right gate! Lift it up and push. Fully fenced back there.

Umbrellas and towels will be put out on the front porch on rainy days. Treat jars are hung around the yard on the fence- feel free to use some!
