As you walk from the parking area along the path, the property opens up into a beautiful aspen forest with wooden benches and a large meadow. Half way down the meadow on the left (west) side is a small riparian area with Alder trees - the beginning of several spring fed creeks. The hillside on the east side of the property offers rock outcroppings, large rock benches and 360 views. Our dogs thoroughly enjoy their time here and we hope your dog does, too! Depending on the time of year, the spring fed area can be muddy, an old towel is recommended for the drive home. This property is perfect for dog walks, picnics and celebrations. Beautiful area fully enclosed with 6' fence at the lowest. Separate entrance to this field from the street. Street parking on dead end road. Approx 400' x 200' field for running or throwing balls or frisbies. Picnic table shaded from afternoon sun. No lighting after dark Weekends tend to get fully booked. If you don't see any open slots Change your criteria to 30 minutes as there might be a 30 minute slot still available. If still no slots contact us as we might have an hour opening between guests. Sniffspot requires 30 minute padding so those gaps won't show up but we might be able to squeeze you in. There is a water hydrant near the chicken coop. Lift up on handle and wait three to four seconds for the water to begin flowing. Turn on splitter valve if no water comes out. There's a large green trash can next to the shed for poo and some bags available if you didn't bring your own. In Summer early mornings are usually cool. After noon the picnic table will be in the shade and an hour or two before sunset a good portion of the field is in the shade. But midday can be hot with no shade. I recommend checking the weather forecast before visiting or only booking 30 minutes when hot

Imperia's Canine Connection 1+ Acre Private Dog Park The Spot: Over 1 acre of fully fenced (6' chain link) field area with a drive-through gate so your dogs can start running right out of the car. The surface is a packed sandy soil during the cold weather months and mowed natural vegetation during the warmer months. A walk around the interior fence line is about 1/4 mile so it's great for the active dog owner too. It's a close-in rural location right in Aurora just two miles east of I-225 from the Sixth Ave exit. My neighbor has loose chickens on his property. The chickens are bothered by dogs. Dogs may bark out of curiosity and that's totally appropriate and ok, but they soon realize that with no reaction there is no need to bark. NOTICE: I share a 300' fence with a neighbor to the west. The neighbor has a new dog that on random occasions has access to this shared fence line. I have installed privacy screening to minimize this distraction. IF YOUR DOG IS HIGHLY REACTIVE, PLEASE DO NOT RESERVE TIME AT MY SNIFFSPOT. Sniffin' Hours are: 9:00 -4:00 every day except for Tuesday, which is field maintenance day, and my dogs do get kind of jealous if they can't use their own dog park. I can make special arrangements for you through the chat if you need longer than one hour, though for most dogs one hour is more than sufficient.

There is a switch back trail through the middle of the property marked by tree branches/logs and pink/green flags. Further trail description below the instructions. Best way to find the trail from the gate is to either follow the fence line up to the right all the way to the top of the property or walk straight up the gulley until you see the first green flag. The green flags mark the beginning and end of each switchback. There are 29 rows of switchbacks. Between the green flags there are pink flags to guide you with branches and logs to mark the left and right of each trail. There are a few places where the trail merges which is marked by 2 yellow flags. The last (or first depending on the ascent or descent chosen) trail row has yellow flags that have been colored pink (see pictures at the very end of the collage). It is about a 4 mile round trip hike if you follow the switch backs up then down (or vice versa). For you hiking purists the switchback rows are not perfectly parallel. This was a 3 year manual effort. The more ya’ll hike it the more visible it will be.
