55Jackie was great at quickly responding to my questions about the hiking trail ahead of my visit and it was so helpful in better understanding what to expect: a private entrance to the trail, and likely that you wouldn’t pass other people or dogs but that you never know/she couldn’t tell you for certain (totally understandable). Their spot is an awesome opportunity to get a little hike/nature walk in without the crowd of typical local, public trails. There was a lot of rain in the past week, so parts were muddy or had puddles (again, to be expected). Very peaceful and quiet. We did encounter one off-leash dog in the distance - no owner in sight, but my dog barked enough and he ran off.

55Nice spot! The fenced in area is off limits unless added as an extra so good recall or a longline are perfect for this place. Theres a field and the walking trail. It was a little buggy but we also went later in the day, it’s probably not an issue earlier on. It’s definitely a woodsy area so probably not a great spot if your dog isn’t on some kind of flea/tick preventative. Overall we had a great visit and my dog enjoyed romping around and chewing on a nice stick he found in the field! We also met the owner briefly and she was SO sweet. She also brought water out and left it by my car for my dog while we were off exploring!

FAQ About Middleton Dog Parks

Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 5% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Middleton area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 325 fully fenced dog parks in the area.
