Top Public & Private Dog Parks in Newcastle, CA

This was our first visit and we will come back. The location was easy to find. Our dogs had lots of fun running around. It was really nice to have access to a pond. Lots of shade. Grass was long but Abe did tell us that before our visit

We had a great time walking around and letting my dog explore. The grass was a bit overgrown, but once my pup discovered how fun it is to run through tall grass, it became a giant plus.

Beautiful area, my pooch loved the pond. Will definitely be back. Electric guys did come onto the property while I was there which was unfortunate as my dog is not fond of men. Brody was leashed and did better than expected, thankfully.

I parked where the maps took me which was down a little from the path to the pond. Walked down the road to the path to the pond and had a fun time exploring.

Our second visit here, and we were happy to give this place another try. When we first visited in January half the property was very dry with lots of tall prickly plants which made it hard to navigate. When we returned today there was several nice streams flowing, the pond was full, and had lots of green grass. You still need to be careful as some areas are thick with thorny vines and plants, but we felt like we were able to explore much more of the property this time. It doesn’t quite feel like 10 acres, but it’s definitely a big area. My dog had a blast playing in the water! There’s a few muddy areas so I would come prepared with the right footwear and towels. The green grass was nice but it’s quite tall in some places so you really have to watch your step. I don’t expect this type of property to be regularly mowed, but getting a good cut every so often would help make it more walkable. A few parking signs would be nice too. I know this place is still new, and I’m curious to see how evolves and improves with more time. Thanks Abe for letting us explore.

My dogs had a great time in the pond and surrounding area. If it has rained at all, the dogs will be muddy! Recommend bug spray considering the standing water.

We had a great time at this spot. We went to the back on the other side of the pond and our pup wasn’t distracted by the road. We are a couple weeks from the last rain. There were some muddy patches but most of the spot was dry enough to walk around. We’ll be back! Google maps brought us to the right location. We didn’t have trouble finding it, and just parked by the pond.

Fun spot! Be prepared for messy dogs and muddy shoes! But that’s the fun of Sniffspot :) my dog loved this spot and it really gave me lots of practice with his recall and I was able to hike around the spots with him and he loved swimming in the lake. Spot is not fully fenced in by you can really distance yourself from the road and it’s not a busy street!

Jake had a great time at this Sniffspot! Even though it’s January, he spent a lot of time in the pond! so much space to run around. Because it’s a new Sniffspot, there wasn’t signage, but I’m sure that’s in the works. The road leading to the property isn’t busy at all, but it is unfenced along the road. Bring a long line if your dog hasn’t mastered recall. There is lots to see and smell – we will go back again soon!

This place was very easy to find and not too far from civilization, lol. Abe, the owner was very helpful, he was out of town but promptly messaged me when I asked about the layout of the property. My two mini-Aussies had a lot of fun and were exhausted after nearly 2 hours walking and running around this property. Lots of doggie interest there. The layout is easy since it’s basically a square but includes a strip on one side where there’s a path to walk along a great canal that is fenced so no danger of falling in. The pond up front had a flock of geese that my pups chased but of course gave up when they all flew off. My only concern would be summertime stickers if weeds grow and are not mowed. We were there on a sunny day when the ground was still soft and the weeds down for the most part, and my pups still had lots of little stickers they got but only from where they explored off the side of the canal path. It took me about 30 minutes to brush them out when I got home, but it wasn’t enough of a problem that I wouldn’t return to this spot. Dogs with short hair shouldn’t have as much of a problem.
