We host a beekeeper who has about 40 hives on a well-marked and avoidable section of one trail. The bees are out only from April to October but please avoid the hives anyway. IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD Hi there, we are Between The Lakes Family Farm in Canfield (15 minutes south of Binbrook). Our farm is located on 100 acres of beautifully scenic property and we have opened 26 acres of that space for you to explore. Our property is on predominantly flat elevation with trails, multiple fields and roughly 7 acres of forest. While the forest can be dense in spots, it is very walkable and presents a lovely spot to hike through. We have 5 ponds as well as a stream that runs the width of our property and travels through the forest. We have a myriad of wildlife that you may see or encounter during your adventures here. These could include (but are not limited to) great blue herons, muskrats, rabbits, geese, ducks, deer and coyotes. We do have livestock and a guardian dog on the property (they are fully fenced) as well as family pets so please respect their space and ensure your dogs are leashed anytime you are nearing the barn, paddock or barnyard areas.

On our 26-acre hobby farm, we have a 6-acre fenced farm field/dog park. It is a large place! Enjoy seeing natural landscapes, trees, and privacy along the way. Have fun, play catch, train and let your animal have unleashed freedom! We have uploaded a printable "safety map" for each season, which contains a legend for your use and the status of the park. Please note that the fire pit is not available during the winter season. PARKING AND DIRECTIONS TO SNIFFSPOT: 1. Ride up and park in the guest parking. You will see a white sign with green letters “Guest Parking” nailed to the hydro pole above the yellow and black slow sign. 2. Typically, there is a red jeep parked in one of the three parking spaces. You can also park on the grass if it's not too wet. 3. When you exit the vehicle, please leash and walk your dog until you reach the SniffSpot. 4. Walk towards the white barn, and about 1/3 of the way, hang a right and head towards the Highway. Follow the tree line through the field. Do not go to the left/west side, if past the chicken fencing by gate #1, that is the wrong way. Turnaround. 5. Avoid going through the forest; the larger pond will block you, and the woods are thick. 6. The path through the field will curve a bit and take a hard right, and you will see an opening with a gate. That is the SniffSpot. *2025 UPDATE – October 20, 2025* 2024 was a wonderful year! It was our first year in business and because of you, we were the top spot in the local area! 2025 is almost behind us. Since opening, we have had 255 happy dogs with a rating of +4.7 out of 5! Our Corgi loved walking after your visits because of all the new dog smells. We have reviewed all of your comments and feedback. One of the recent milestones is that we have levelled the field, and the space is very open and clean. Here are some additions and projects we will em”bark” between now and 2026 to improve your experience and the Sniffspot: 1. Fence gap at the Pond: Our neighbour has permitted us to install a fence segment on their property to close the fence gap at the pond. Once installed, we can declare a 100% fenced-in spot before the 2026 2. Entrance signage: We will be adding a main sign at the parking space, which includes a printout of the Sniffspot map, extra doggy bags, and garbage with a mini roof/shelter. 3. Directional signage: We will be adding posts with signs and directions that will be installed throughout the property in the summer of 2026. If you have any questions, please let me know. The farm fence consists of professionally installed 2” by 4” squares of wire mesh (commonly used for smaller livestock such as sheep, donkeys, cows, etc) and cedar posts. If you look at the photo, you can see the locations of the gate on the main photo or on the “safety map” (see photos and captions). We have more fencing on other parts of the property outside of our dog park in case your dog does not have a good recall. Explore a unique piece of history while enjoying the tranquility of large, private, well-appointed land, located next to an original stonework trestle constructed in the 1850s for the Erie Railroad. Your dogs will love wander along the abandoned railroad bed, trekking through the shale-bottomed stream, or relaxing while overlooking the water. While mostly shallow, the stream deepens at points for short swims. Your dog will love the rocks and sticks and playing in the water. The site is approximately 3 acres with a quarter mile marked trail. There are three large tables with plenty of stools, this spot is a great place to have a picnic while your dog plays. The wifi works well here too, well enough to live-stream.

Come, take a walk through my yard, into the woods and down a slope to get to Cazenovia Creek. While down by the creek, you will most likely not encounter another human being. The piece of creek is bordered by Northrup, Transit and the bridge on Southwestern Boulevard. Feel free to explore through the woods in solitude, it is a 10 minute walk down to the creek. I have an unfenced yard, so please have your furry friend on a leash if they are not leash trained. Once you get into the woods, you are more than welcome to go off leash. This is definitely a walk for boots or hikers. If it has been raining, the trail down will be muddy. The walk to the slope is wooded with many obstacles but definitely walkable ducking here and there under a branch.

We have plenty of space for running around, playing frisbee, fetch, swimming.. whatever your fur baby is after. We are a small farm, which means we have chickens, ducks and goats. We keep our animals in their coops when fur friends are visiting. ***please note; we require notice at least one day in advance if the animals are to be kept in their coops. Otherwise we let them free range*** The creek has an easy entry location. It’s shallow water at that spot. Deeper water in other areas. Our property is sprayed using a food grade insect deterrent. Plus our chickens free range when there are no dogs around. This means very minimal tick sightings. We have children, so expect some toys around. If you’re bringing children, they’re welcome to play on the play structure. (Pending parental approval and supervision). Plenty of muskoka chairs to relax in while your fur baby plays. The road isn’t right beside the area where fur friends run, however it is accessible from the yard. If you have a dog that’s a flight risk or likes to chase cars, this isn’t the right spot for you. We have lots of dog friends that visit unleashed and listen well to their owners with no issues. Any questions, please ask!
