Our field is fully fenced with 6' chain link fence, including a double gate to ensure that no dog can ever escape. Water is available for the dogs, and seating is available under our beautiful trees in the shade for you. As the fall starts to get colder and winter is upon us, we do plan to stay open for the winter. We plan to snowblow parts of the field so that there is a path when the snow gets super deep, and we’ll try to keep the area directly beside the barn clear for you. This is our plan… we’ll see how it works out in reality. :) If you have snowshoes, it may be a good idea to bring them some days depending on how much snowfall we’ll get. There is a bench around the tree on the far hill for you to sit on if you like. There are very few distractions here so it is a great space for play and/or training. We have three areas for you to enjoy, all are fully fenced and are included in the rental price. We have a fully fenced acre of woods with a trail that goes through to explore. It is accessed through the gate in the backyard. We also have a front yard and deep backyard, great for running, fetch and recall training. The yard is 1.5 acres and also fully fenced. During the summer you have access to two seating areas including a picnic table, gazebo for shade (seasonally) a 30 foot tether is also available if you would like to have your dog stay beside you while you relax. During the winter, paths are plowed in both yards and in the woods within 3-5 hours of a significant snowfall. This place is vast and incredible. Rife with different terrains and levels, little creatures like frogs - a haven for any dog that loves to climb, sniff, and all around explore. It should be noted that on rainy days/after there can be ALOT of mosquitoes, which is typical of Ontario. The host provides great bug repellent, but do dress accordingly.

Dogs had a lot of fun running around the yard. Area was secured with lots of paths, balls, and space. The entrance is secured with a piece of plywood and wiring, easy enough for my dogs and me to get over yet high enough to keep them contained. Host is quick to respond. There are a few dogs on either sides of the fences. Luckily my dogs react well to barks / whines and weren’t too bothered. Great spot!

Phenomal time for my girls to run around and play. Provided doggie bags and tennis balls (however I’ll have to replace two as they were lost in the deep snow haha!) We had so much fun playing in the snow today. After 2 days of extreme cold the dogs were able to get all their energy out, and I was able to relax with my pups. Thank you so much for this spot. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and the property was great! They even made sure some paths were clear of snow despite a bunch of snow having just fallen. Are small dog parks safe?

While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). How do I know if a small dog park works for my dog?

What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot park?

We require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that owners sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. We also require that pet owners follow safety protocols around water features.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot park at the same time as me?

Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
