Top Public & Private Dog Parks in Arroyo Grande, CA

We visited twice today, once with my two dogs and once with a sweet husky who needed a shelter break. Both visits were amazing! It was peaceful, but with plenty of safe space for my dog to have zoomies for days. The husky never stopped sniffing and exploring for the entire hour and slept soundly on the drive back. This spot is so great and I love having the kiddie pool as an add-on option on these warm days.

Me and my dog had a wonderful time here. It was easy to get to and clearly marked with a sign, the host greeted us when we arrived and was incredibly kind. My dog had an amazing time exploring, sniffing, playing fetch and watching the goats. We will definitely be back!

Loved this spot. Great property to work on recall and we loved the trails on the hills. I also super appreciate that they mowed down the tall grasses/hay. The fox tails and stickers were minimal when we went in late summer. A previous users square photo does confuse me on the lot lines for the property. If the outlined photo is correct, we weren’t sure where the property ended because it was not fenced off as square. BUT regardless of that, the entry was easy and the balls and poop station were a great touch. There were some bird boxes, would be great for bird watching (we saw some quail as well). We will be going back!

My dogs had a blast. Lots of space to run and explore. Wore out two border collies which is not easy to do. Great fully fenced in space. Highly recommend!

Our dog had a great time. Lots and lots of space to run. Lots of places to walk around. I liked how they had poop bags and water at the entrance. Even a bag of balls for the doggos. Will definitely come back again.

This was our second visit and we loved it just as much as the first. There is plenty or room to run and play and explore but plenty of peace to enjoy once the wiggles are out.

The property is very clearly marked as being private and no entrance. The host and family dog are nowhere in sight as promised and it is very calm and peaceful. So many good smells to sniff! My girl sniffed and rolled in the grass for 45 straight minutes, too excited to do anything else. We will be back a lot.

The fencing is very secure all the way down to the ground. A jumper could get out but not an average dog. It is a lovely place with lots to sniff and see. The owner is a lovely calm person who has a dog herself and understands dog reactive dogs needs not to be in view of her own. I am very impressed

Very fun and peaceful environment! The instructions to find the space were clear and we appreciated the warm welcome from the host. We brought our dog and toddler and it was so nice to just let them roam. We especially liked the chairs under the shade tree, some balls and toys and plan to bring some of our own toys next time. Looking forward to coming back again, soon!

This was an amazing space to explore and let your dog run! They had tennis balls, potty bags, and a water bowl available at the start of the trail. We have a hyper border collie and this was perfect to get zoomies out. Perfect space for a ball chucker and big runs. 💡Tips: Save your tennis ball for the big open spaces. They can get lost down the hill or under a bush at the beginning part 🤣 we lost one of ours on the way in. Also keep walking! There was so much to explore past the first open space.

We had a very quiet and peaceful visit. My dogs enjoyed running around and sniffing in all of the squirrel holes and we all enjoyed some quiet moments in the shade of a tree listening to the birds.

We spent 2 hours here and had the loveliest time! It was our second visit and just like the first one, it was quiet and peaceful and loads of fun for the dogs. Ellen even put out a kiddie pool which my dogs adored splashing around in.

Wow!!! “Lovely little farm” is the perfect way to describe this spot! You could also add “peaceful.” My dogs played within a few minutes of arriving which they only do when they feel happy and safe. There are lots of different areas for them to explore and their favorites included the front area with lots of deep shade and soft grass and under a big tree in the back yard where they nibbled on grass. I showed them the goats at the beginning of the visit and after that they weren’t worried about them at all. The goats are off to the side so there is plenty of space to explore and play away from the goats. The chickens were interesting to my dogs, but were well back from the fence line so interest didn’t turn into worry or excitement at all. There is plenty of room to play fetch and lots of nice shady spots to enjoy the peace and quiet. Ellen could not have been nicer and was very communicative. I let her know I was concerned about unexpected visitors in the spot as has happened at other places and she went so far as to put up a sign just in case anyone showed up unexpectedly! It was incredibly thoughtful. To that effect- there is really only one place people might enter and you would hear the gate and not be surprised. I think I had as nice of a time as my dogs just having the privilege of watching them have fun in such a pretty and quiet location knowing they were safe and secure. Thank you so much! Awesome spot! Easy in and out! Shade under the trees .a nice trail to open space to throw around the ball. Dogs are exhausted! They loved it!

This was a beautiful farm! I love the natural habitat and it’s so nice being away from city noises. Plenty of room to explore and exercise the dog. She loved that it was peaceful—no pack of dogs everywhere and dogs doing things that are considered ok for dogs but she just doesn’t identify as a dog… she’s a priss. We will definitely be back! The host was very nice. There were toys and water for the dog, and chairs for the people. The run is great for dogs that like to fetch.

Backyard was clean with toys, treats and dog bags stocked! My dog had so much fun sniffing and running around! It felt so good to not worry about him getting out of the fence and just having a good time!

My pups had a blast running around the big yard, our husky hasn’t been off leash besides in the house in over a year when we had to move from a house with a yard. This truly made my dogs day, they had a water bowl with a hose for water lots of dirt which my pups love and a bucket full of toys. Will definitely be returning to this sniff spot ❤️🐶

So grateful to Megan for letting us use her hard on the 4th of July! It gave my dogs a chance to run around and have a bunch of fun in a safe environment to get some energy out before things got too scary later in the day.

Big yard. Our border collie had a great time chasing her ball. There was shade for her to rest and cool off.
