55I have visited Robin's farm three times, each time is better than the last. I have brought two dogs, one is dog reactive. My pups had an amazing time running through the fields, sniffing around and exploring the woods and swimming in the river! I parked at the house and walked them on a leash back to the field. I took them off the leash at the field and let them run. They both have decent recall, if they hadn't had good recall I would have kept them on leash until I got to the wooded area. I think it would be better in the future for me to drive down to the field and park my car there, because there is a decent amount of activity at the house (people, dogs, sheep and a lumber area). It's pretty easy to drive down to the field and I think it would also be doable to drive all the way to the woods if it's dry. I would recommend bringing boots if it is wet.David A.

55"A day at the farm! This is a fun spot in a beautiful area - mountain views and the Skykomish River surround you. I parked at the house and walked down to the river - so plan to stay for at least a couple of hours as it does take some time to walk.
Down along the river there are lots of paths to explore. I put my dog back on a leash down by the river because the current is quite strong and he was wanting to swim far in to it. There are lots of blackberry bushes, so wearing books / sturdy pants will help."Lisa Z.

55"Initially I got in contact with Robin of PaJo Ranch and we corresponded through text. She was very kind and helpful in arranging a good time to meet her at her place. I left my house in Lynnwood at 5:15pm and got to Monroe around 6:25pm. When we got to PaJo Ranch we were greeted at the ""Tiny House"" by Robin. She had a huge smile on her face, and her little sidekick doggy helped us drive to the entrance way of the fields. Robin told us her ranch history, which is fascinating - so please ask her about her family ranch when you go!
She explained that she rents out part of the land to other farmers - last year they grew soybeans!! This year, when we got there, people were working on the land, even until 8:30pm. Robin explained that the whole field all the way to the back fence was available for Bear to run around in, except the field where the other farmers were working.
We initially went to the left, but soon realized that towards the end of the car-driven path, we could not walk any farther down because the field was being used by the farmers, so we had to turn around. But we did see a beaver up close who swam back into the water! It was surreal. So we turned around back to where we first started and walked through the flower fields. It took a good 20-25 minutes to get to the other side but it sure was a fun adventure. The grass and flowers were very tall, sometimes even up to my waist! Bear had a blast running, hopping, and getting his face whacked with pollen. We went on a particularly sunny, hot day, so I wore shorts, but I do suggest you wear long pants and sturdy shoes. If it was a rainy day before, I highly suggest rain boots or hiking boots and towels for your car.
We got to the other side and could not figure out how to get to the Skykomish River. We hoped there were signs or we were let know ahead of time what the best route was to get to the river. There was one way to the left that we found led straight to the water, but we couldn't figure out how to get to the very left side where there was a pebbled shallow area. We finally gave up and tried to find a new route. We came back out and took trail to the right. Boy! Be careful of many, many thorns from old, dead blackberry bushes covering the whole path. Your doggies' paws could get a hurtin' - we had to take out a couple thorns from Bear's paws and he did not seem to enjoy it. I also got a couple scratches on my legs - so long pants suggested.
It was however, a nice getaway and reminded me of adventures I had when I was a kid - a ""Bridge to Terabithia"" vibe. After wandering to find a better path to the river, it was growing darker, so we decided to head back. We took to the fields of flowers again - I don't think there was another way through, but nonetheless it was a fun one back! We let Bear off leash and he ran and ran like a mad man! He was hopping around like a bunny and his face was yellow and sticky with pollen. It was a perfect end to a perfect day as the sun set on the fields, mountain, moon, and river surrounding you. Definitely a beautiful, scenic spot you don't want to miss!
Bring a camera to take beautiful pics of the lovely scenery! Bring a snack or a picnic setting to eat towards the river because you will definitely use up the full 2 hours.
I highly suggest you explore Robin's ""Tiny House"" as well - we did not have time, but we hope to see it next time! And enjoy the farm animals around you - sheep, horsies, and Robin's other dogs. And take in the vast area of land before you and the nature around you - you will truly enjoy it. Next time I will ask Robin what the best, direct way to get to the river is and I will make sure Bear will be able to play in the water more."Alice H.

55this sniffspot is gorgeous! We got a little lost trying to find the river, but being "lost" in fields of flowers and forest was definitely fine with us! The river is pretty deep and swift here, so less confident swimmers (like ours), might benefit from being kept on leash. Be sure to book at least two hours to have plenty of time to explore - it's about a 20-30 minute walk from where you park to the forest, around a freshly tilled field. The neighboring house does have a dog that barked at us on our way back, but Roo was so tired she barely reacted.Heather L.

55This was a delightful sniffspot. The area down near the river was very dense grass and brush but Milo had a great time crashing through everything. The river was high but we were still able to wade up to the beach and Milo enjoyed wading around. I did have him wear his life jacket as there is a fair amount of current. That being said there wasn't any steep dropoffs into the water so Milo never went in over his head. Be prepared for an ~20minute leashed walk to and from the sniff spot as the field has been plowed and seeded so you have to go around to access the river. I'm an athletic young person and it took me 20 minutes going out and about 15 coming back. Overall a lovely spot and I will definitely come back later in the year when the river is a bit calmer and it's hotter for some swimming. We saw some horses from a distance and one dog that was at least 300yards away across the river. Otherwise no animals. This would definitely be sutable for reactive dogs.Faith E.

55Our second trip to PaJo ranch, and it was even better than the first! The river level was low enough that there was a rocky beach we could walk along for quite a ways. Rooney even ventured into the water, since it was slower moving than our last trip. Robin cleared a bunch more paths down past the field, so there's lots of interesting places to go and sniff around (and still plenty of tall grass if your dog is like mine and prefers the tall stuff). We saw one boat full of people fishing, but other than that, we didn't see any other people or dogs, which is perfect for Rooney! Looking forward to our next trip already!Heather L.

55I had a woofin’ good time with my hooman. Robin was really nice and let me sniff her all over before she took us out to the field to show us where to go. We walked along the perimeter to get to the fun part. There are blacberry bushes that have been cleared, but they still prickled my toebeans so wear tall boots if you have them! Once we passed the field there was some tall grass to play in, and then there’s the private water access. I ate some bear poop and lapped up fresh water. We also saw a snake, coyote pup, and a fishing boat. There weren’t other dogs there. They’re not my favorite so I enjoyed having my own space to play. I left a bunch of pee-mails for the next visitor too. Thank you, Robin for letting me come romp around, and thanks to my furma for translating puppanese to english so everyone can read this. 55PaJo Ranch is my reactive dog's little slice of heaven! Robin was gracious and friendly. She greeted us as we drove in and led us to a field where we could park in a quiet spot, away from my dog's triggers. The path down to Skykomish River is super fun for the dogs! Lots of tall grasses to jump and skip through. Great place to practice your recall ;) Definitely wear long pants and boots. And bring a towel and water for the dogs. They'll have fun getting their paws muddy from all the romping and they'll be thirsty from running! We would definitely like to come back!Mikko K.

55Wonderful spot! Wish I could spend all day out there. The trail was a bit overgrown from the recent rain, and we had to keep our dogs on leash for the 30 minute walk around the planted field, as instructed by the owner, but that’s no problem when you have the place to yourself! Lots of allergens and bees out, so bring those antihistamines. The beach is vast and the river is shallow for a ways out. The owner is very friendly and accommodating.Autumn R.

55PaJo Ranch is THE BEST. This is our fifth or sixth visit. It is a wonderful retreat away from the city for our VERY reactive shepherd mix. Our girl is reactive to just about everything, but our visits to PaJo Ranch have really helped her build her confidence bit-by-bit. This is really the only place she can "be a dog" and we LOVE it here.Mikko K.

55"The host Robin is wonderful and welcoming. Our dogs had a great time running on the trails and playing in the river. One thing to note is the 10-15min walk (on leash) from where you park to the off leash area. It is flat and easy to walk, just make sure to plan for that time when you set up your reservation and bring good walking shoes, and a bag to carry anything with you like toys or water.
We can’t wait to go back again!"Asenath P.

It is flat and easy to walk, just make sure to plan for that time when you set up your reservation and bring good walking shoes, and a bag to carry anything with you like toys or water.
We can’t wait to go back again!"

55We loved this spot so much! I really enjoyed meeting Robin as well as the rhythm of taking a path-walk before the reveal of the river romp spot. If you like taking dog photos, there are some super fun backdrops all in one spot (water, huge trees, wheatfield). The variety of environments and the cool-off-ability afforded by the river are great, but I would totally come back in the winter too.Erin D.

55Robin, the host, was great, super nice and friendly. The ranch is huge! There is about a 15-20 minute walk to get to the off leash area but you can drive it if you'd prefer. There are trails for running, trees for shade then down to the river to cool off and swim. My dog needs space to run and this place was perfect!Erika S.

55This Sniff Spot is amazing, with a nice long walk down to the river. Great for the dogs to run around. We met up with a friend and their dog and the dogs loved playing in the river together and sniffing all of the blackberry bushes.Sarah N.

55Our dogs and us had a wonderful time! The property is well kept and fully fenced, and the host is very kind and communicative. Little traffic noise and the neighbors have horses which is always fun to see as a city person! Scarlett W.

55Excellent host and the site is spectacular for snuffling, running, and water play. Chickens were cooped up as said, and it’s hard to see the horses from the main play areas, so we didn’t have issues with our pup being too curious or distracted. The creek was a HUGE win for our Ridgeback and he loved getting to trot across all of the bridge options. Fencing was great. We will be back for sure! Rebecca A.
