The Hummingbird Home Doggy Play Park

I have an enormous fenced-in yard. I’ve been working hard on getting it ready for doggy visitors. The ground can be a bit uneven, so please watch your steps. The gophers seems to dig holes faster than I can fill them, so running (for humans) is not advised. The best parking is at the corner and SniffSpot guests have their own gated entry at the far end of the property. Please don’t not park in front of the houses directly across the street, those neighbors are territorial about their parking spots and are not polite about it. If the private entrance is too steep for you or if the path is slick, please feel free to use the gates at the front of the house and garden entrance. The secondary gate just pushes away. The pup fountain can be used by turning on the faucet at the house, and you’re welcome to hook up and use the pup splash pad which is folded and placed on the doghouse.

If you’re looking for a great place for your dog to sniff, run, and explore this is the place. Our dog loves to explore the creek, sniff out little critters, and get out her zoomies. Our property isn’t fenced and is close to a busy road so we do recommend a long lead if your dog doesn’t have solid recall. I will leave out a water bowl when you’re here the trash can is always on the driveway if you need to dispose of any poop bags. Please pick up after your dog is you can to avoid spreading disease. The area at the back of the property is a bit more secure and surrounded by woods. You will find the creek back there. There’s a bit of a deeper spot if your dog likes to swim but it’s great for those who just like to wade. I also recommend bug spray and to be sure your dog is on flea and tick preventive. We keep the grass short but there are plenty of woods and deer so ticks are there. You might see some geese, ducks, rabbits, and other manner of wildlife. We own the woods behind the creek but don’t have a bridge built to get over there. When the creek is low you can walk over but again ticks are likely. We hope you enjoy!

Our visit was fabulous! There are so many spots to explore and Christina was such a great host! She took the time to show us around a bit, tell us about their property plans, and walk us through boundaries and water spot locations (for when it's not 30degrees). The property is hilly but has nice flat enough areas as well. While they have livestock in view in some parts of the property, you can walk on the other side of the property and avoid the conflict easily and still enjoy off-leash adventures (should you choose). Using a leash when around the livestock is always the safest option for everyone, but once you get further up the hill there are more off-leash options if your dog, even on that same side of the property. We are excited to come back again and explore more next time!

This was a beautiful spot, so close to my home, 10 min away. Highly recommend, easy to access, I was worried there might be distractions, and there were none. We drove up, my dog Jumped out if the car and it was heaven! We ran around for 40 min, no other dog, person or distraction in sight. Sydney was so happy, lots of sniffs, perfection! Are dog fields safe?

If you are looking for an adventure, but also looking for safety, Sniffspot dog fields are a great option. While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, distracted dog owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than public dog parks. If your dog has poor recall, you can visit one of our secure fields. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog fields where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can review the details of the listing to make sure it works as your desired activity space, for example, safe dog exercise, dog training, a stress-free adventure with your furry friend or even a puppy event. You can even check the park amenities chart for amenities such as indoor training facilities, agility field, synthetic turf, exercise balls or field parking availability in advance. If inclement weather is an issue or poor field conditions, you can reschedule your visit up to 2 hours in advance.

What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog field?

We require that all four-legged friends have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. Make sure to check host rules before visiting to ensure, for instance, that you are following allowable sports activities rules and any special events rules.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot field at the same time as me?

No. Facility rentals are for private play time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the area during visits, so this is perfect for a private adventure for you and your doggie friends, and perhaps a human friend. Hosts understand that many guests have dogs in training and are nervous owners. So when you book a Sniffspot dog field you have the entire private spot to yourself. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between time slots so you will not run into other guest dogs or a previous person when coming or leaving in the field parking area. Some hosts may have multiple fields, but there is always a buffer between fields.
