55What a perfect little spot! The last part of the road is bumpy but once you get there it’s easy parking and easy access to the water (except the last step but even my 5yr old was fine). The water was so refreshing and my dog swam for a full 2 HOURS! There is also a picnic table and deck to use which was nice for the lunch we brought. We will 100% be back! Thank you! Carrie H.

55Wonderful spot! My dog loved it. I should’ve worn better shoes to navigate the rocks (not flip flops), but that is on me. The hosts instructions were clear and it was a great area for my pup to swim and play!Batten R.

55Such a great place! The water was very easy to access and was the perfect temperature. There is ample space for dogs to run and there is a good sized shallow area for pups who don’t like to go in past their knees. Highly recommend:)Amara T.

55The description of this spot is spot on. The lake is great and we had lots of fun. Sitting at the picnic while your dog plays in the water on a 90 degree day is such a dream. My dog is reactive and this spot gave us a quiet place to play.Monica Z.

55Such a nice spot! I did at one point think to myself “SURELY I missed the turn to the camp” because it’s a longer road than I thought but right after that I got there - so don’t lose hope! 😂 there was a neighbor with an off leash dog on their dock but it stayed over in its area and wasn’t concerned w us at all so my reactive boy still had plenty of space to do his thing. Mjae was super communicative too!Jess G.

55My two labs had a great time swimming and exploring the waterfront property today. There’s easy access to the water and as others stated, the last few stairs from the deck are steep, but my dogs and I took the path adjacent to the stairs and it was no problem at all. You definitely need water shoes if you plan to go into the water, as stated in the listing. The pond was pretty full, so not much of a beach but my dogs were there primarily to swim so they didn’t mind at all. The road into the property is what you’d expect for a rustic camp in the woods: narrow with some ruts and muddy spots. I did chuckle to myself while driving down the dirt road, thinking what won’t I do for my dogs? A sedan would definitely struggle on that road, but my Subaru did just fine. My girls loved their own private water access. They swam for an hour & half straight, and passed out on the drive home. My girls love swimming and live for retrieving, especially my youngest pup, and it was so relaxing and much less stressful letting them just swim and not feel like I need to constantly look over my shoulder, worrying that other dogs or people might show up any time. Well worth the money for that peace of mind and to seer my dogs enjoy themselves so much. Jess A.

55Rented this spot for my dog reactive dog, so that we could do a test run in my kayak and not have to worry about other dogs. It was so private and quiet, just what we needed.
I found taking the narrow path/rocks down to the water, rather than the stairs, was actually easier. The water level was high so not much beach but it still worked out well. She actually did some real swimming which she doesn’t normally do. Plenty of room to get the kayak in and out, too.
Highly recommend and we’ll be back again! Kimberly C.

55Went this morning, was our first time going to a sniff spot and this one is awesome right on the water. Scarlet loved smelling everything and playing in the water. And the owner was super helpful with a bit of confusion I had finding it at first.
Will definitely be coming back!Madison C.

55a peaceful and quiet place for my reactive pup, with great views for the humans too! the view is even more beautiful than the photos. agree with all the suggestions for water shoes, we were very happy to have them to lead our dog into the water. luckily, there was a long-lead to borrow, but it would be wise to bring your own lead and gear because there is plenty of space and varied terrain for the pup to sniff and explore. we would have been sad to not have a long-lead. Colleen's Fully Fenced Yard For Dogs To Rent In Lewiston | Sniffspot
55Well fenced and beautifully maintained. Host concerned about comfort and safety. I would highly recommend. There are dogs visible from neighboring yards and there was so barking so not ideal for a super reactive dog but no dogs saw or heard on-site. E P.

FAQ about our Lewiston dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 95% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Lewiston area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 20 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 5 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
