55This is the perfect spot for any size dog unless you have a tiny escape artist on your hands but even then there was only ONE spot in the very very back where a small dog could fit under a gate. My Jack Russell (if you know you know) didn’t even bother with it because she was so busy running and playing so I didn’t see it as an issue at all. The size is literal perfection. I also have a Great Dane and it was big enough for him. Plenty of shade for any time of day. We laid a blanket out under a tree and relaxed while the dogs played. At the very back there are cows on the other side of the fence but my reactive Great Dane didn’t even bat at eye because they were so far away. Nice, private entrance. Enough room for 2 vehicles (my husband and I drove separately because well, small car and big dog). I loved the access to the water hose and the there’s a dog bowl if you need it. Trash receptacle provided so you don’t have to drive home with your dogs goods baking in the heat of your vehicle. I also want to mention something I saw in another review. They mentioned thistle. In my opinion, if you look at the pictures of the place, read the description and expect there to be no thistle, that’s on you 🤷🏼♀️ I saw maybe 3 or 4 SMALL spots and it was no issue whatsoever. That place is so big you probably won’t see the same thing twice. In conclusion, YOU WONT REGRET YOUR CHOICE! Perfect spot and we will be back. Thank you Joyce for providing my pups with a nice space to run free!Emily D.

55This is our second time at Mt Joy zoomie park and my pups love it. We have a smaller yard so this is so nice to be able to let them run around and explore. I would suggest bringing a chair & bug spray. My pups explore so much that they couldn’t care less about playing fetch lol thank you for sharing your space with us! Hope to be able to have our own Sniffspot some day!Crystal T.

55Second visit with our Lab. Missed the driveway both times so watch out. Quiet road so no problem going back. Nice fully fenced property, mostly open trees and downed trees with branches for sniffing around edges. We will go again.Paul H.

55Appreciated that I could pull my car completely into the fenced pasture and shut the gate before letting my big dogs out. There are lots of natural areas to explore like branches and vegetation. It's wooded and shady in parts which is very nice. Dogs liked that. On second visit, one of my dogs was too distracted by the cows next door. My other dog didn't particularly care. We enjoyed this spot. Thank you for sharing it.Katcha N.

55First time visiting, loved it! This place is absolutely huuuuge- more room than we knew what to do with. The fence is secure the whole way around, and the area was clean. Super stimulating environment-- my dog sniffed for 20 straight minutes! We also made friends with some goats, chased a ball, and did some training. This is a really, really lovely spot. We'll be regulars! Samantha L.

FAQ about our Mount Joy dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 97% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Mount Joy area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 178 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 17 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
