GETTING HERE 9420 West Saanich Rd - This is the first driveway north of Ardmore golf course on the west side of West Saanich. - Drive up the long driveway, take the sudden left turn at the farmhouse, and straight ahead another 3 metres is the SniffSpot meadow -Park there (you'll see a chalkboard sign) - The meadow is on your left THE MEADOW - this is a fully-fenced 1/2 acre with 5ft tall fences resting a few inches off the ground. It is secure for small dogs. - it is a shady spot with dappled sunlight, full of deciduous ornamental trees, wild mint, and grasses - there is a flock of chickens next to the dog meadow, visible but protected by fencing AMENITIES - water and a dog bowl are at the front of the gate. Use the spigot and hose to fill the bowl as needed - an electric outlet is here as well for charging devices - garbage is in the “pan-insula” bin clearly marked at the entrance to the meadow. Put dog waste in the garbage bin, not the compost bin.

Space includes a small wooded area within the fenced area. Bathroom available on site in the smaller barn. SMOKE FREE ZONE. Pick up after dogs, garbage bin provided. There are a few seniors visiting with mobility issues which is taken into consideration when there is poop left behind. You can always message me and let me know a general area and I can try to run out and pick it up between the next visit. There are some small gaps in the fence, so this is a great spot for large and medium sized dogs. Not a spot recommended for small dogs or severely reactive. Please keep dogs leashed until it is your time slot and are in the designated area and keep in mind you may pass another dog owner with their dog on a leash leaving or entering the spot. IF YOU CAN NOT CONTROL YOUR DOG ON A LEASH WHEN PASSING ANOTHER DOG PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS SPOT. Lots of seniors visit this spot and they may need some extra time to walk to their cars. For the most part spacing between guests has been good. Please read the essential rules the website has suggested in order to keep this a fun and safe place for dogs. Love the fact that there is shade during my usual time of late afternoon. Kali runs after the ball across the yard and returns to me via all the shade spots. A great area to take frequent breaks from ball playing to lay in the cool grass for a rest.

Great spot for the dogs to romp and play in a huge safe space -- my 3 had a blast! A few smaller gaps in the fence, so might not be suitable for small dogs. Very clean and well kept. We will definitely be back!

Great local spot, will definitely be back! Be aware if you have a reactive dog, there are cats roaming about and the property borders a dog boarding facility. The fencing would not hold a determined smaller dog who could slip between the gaps.

Great location to let your dogs run. There is a kennel next door so you can hear dogs barking if that's a trigger for your pup. The fence that runs parallel to the kennel is barbed wired and my dog was able to get underneath it to approach the kennel fence as he saw a dog in the yard. The kennel fence still separates the dogs but good to know depending on your dogs reactivity and how sneaky they are. My dog came back after checking out the other dogs. Dogs have lots of room to run. Will be back again. Bring your own poop bags and remember to clean up after your dogs. I picked up a couple of stranger piles today. I brought my own water bowl and water. Thanks for the awesome add to sniff spot!

What a brilliant experience! As an owner of a reactive dog, it has been years since we have experienced off-leash freedom, safety, and joy simultaneously. A suggestion to future users is to bring water to top up the bowl provided. We did and I was so thankful - my pooch played hear heart out and drained the bowl!
