We live on 15 acres, and now have 1.5 acres fully fenced! It is all very flat land making for an easy stroll with your dogs. We are boarded on two edges by farm fields and two edges by neighbors. There is a trail that circles the property, with plenty of space to explore. During the summer, please take advantage of the small kiddie pool. There are also toys and chairs in the fenced area for all guests. Some seasonal things to keep in mind: Spring/fall when we have heavy rain, some areas could have standing water and/or be muddy. Mid to late summer, there are fox tails (cheat grass) that can cling to your dogs. Winter, the trails might not be plowed. There will be a 5gal bucket in the wood shed (inside the fenced area) full of water you can use to refill the two water bowls. Keep an eye out for trip hazards! Logs, sticks, uneven ground and holes.

Ray's Private Dog Park In Edwall

The 50 acres is mostly timber, with a 7 acre pond that has water in it most of the year. It will dry up on really hot years. I do have chickens and pack goats by the house. But they are inside mesh fencing, so your dogs won’t be able to get to them. The 50 acres is completely fenced with a 3 to 5 strand Barbwire fence. It’s in good shape. It is also the property boundary. So as long as you stay inside of the fence, you will be on the property. There are not a lot of neighbors but the ones I have are nice. When you come up the driveway, you can pass the house and drive up on the hill and Park at the conex container. There is lots of wildlife on the property, and I highly recommend that your dog has some sort of tick repellent, we do have ticks in the spring time. The upper part of the driveway is not graveled, so if there’s melting snow, or a lot of ran, it can get muddy. So be prepared for that. Trails are well marked. Good sniffing all around for two dogs. We used GPS to get there but used a map to get home which was much better. Host was very responsive. Great Christmas outing from the dogs.

Another wonderful walk in the woods with our Corsos pack. We loved seeing a few changed we noticed! Thank you to the Host for such a secure fencing around the horse. Keeps the worry away for us. Beautifully kept site!

We haven't visited this Sniffspot in quite a long time since we are an hour drive away but I'm glad to say it's better than ever! The trails are well kept and well sign-posted, and we really appreciate the extras like towels and holiday decorations. On this visit we ventured onto the DNR land "next door", and it's very clearly sign posted that we may see other people/dogs/etc. there. We saw one person on horseback, though I did hear them before we saw them and was able to get my dog back on leash easily. My dog was too busy sniffing to get over excited about the horse, but it's something to be aware of if you decide to wander onto the DNR land. It wasn't an issue for us so we'll continue to come back to this great spot!

Black Pond Farm is a magical place, and one of my top 2 favorite Sniffspots! We could come everyday and would never get bored or have the same experience twice. You can't help but laugh watching your pack race along the trails, splash through the streams, swim in the ponds, scramble over logs and giant glacial boulders, snoot and root under ferns, zoom around the pasture, and of course, roll in the mud 🤪 The pups have the time of their lives and you'll leave with joy in your heart. I appreciate how thoughtful the hosts are with the amenities and their generosity sharing this gorgeous place with us. We also use the trails out on the DNR land. We have never encountered anyone else.

It's a gorgeous property! I figured it is from the reviews, it's pretty far from us but I don't mind driving down there. We were kinda late, but that's ok, we will be back! Everything was clean and clear signs guiding you to the sniff spot pathways. So much to sniff! Saw horsies and bunnies! Lots of toys and bubbles for the pups, that's so nice of them! Had a bit of confusion in the instructions but Brenda was able to help with any questions I had. And Charlie is ready to guard their property with the statues they have on the rock wall😁

This spot is definitely worth the 1.25 hour drive from West Seattle. Yesterday, even more so... We were all joyously surprised to find snow! The dogs thought they were in heaven. We left tired yet somehow also feeling replenished.

This was our first visit but definitely won’t be our last. It’s a very well kept trail and everything is clearly marked. Our dogs weren’t the only ones who enjoyed their time, we did too. There were also convenient times available to book. We look forward to coming back here!

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?

Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
