55I am so happy to have found Kristina’s wonderful back 40 for my pup River to burn off some steam. I loved that it was a slope which made River work harder for his chuckit. There’s a nice old stable building with water and a trash can. There’s plenty of sun and shade. I will definitely be back , River didn’t want to leave.

55super big and open— my puppers enjoyed it! Kristina, is very communicative and was quick to respond, thank you! I will however say beware, i brought my little sedan and it’s a little lower than the normal and i struggled a little bit, so bring a higher car or you can access via the paved road right next to it. 55Beautiful huge Meadow on a big slope. As described, it is unfenced on a few sides, but the area is remote and we didn't see another animal, person or car, the whole time we were there.
The host was wonderful, communicative, and gave all of the detailed information we needed. Even reminded us about the fact that it was unfenced, and that it would be muddy. That said, it was ideal for my dog, who loved the long grass.
There is a water faucet, some hand sanitizer, and extra bags as needed, along with the trash can for waste bags. Just exploring, my dog could have been there for hours. We look forward to coming back!K G.

55Great spot! Lots of room to explore. It is very open so I had to leash my dog, who wanted to wander more than I expected. It wasn’t too muddy after the rains but the grass was long and wet. Kristina was kind and helpful about where to park, when I got confused. Kelley K.

55The area is huge and clean. Kristina shared the detailed info on how to access the spot well in advance. She is very friendly and even offered to inform her neighbour’s about our visit so that they can keep their pup inside. My pup had a great time frolicking around the tall grass. We will visit again. 55Long grass and a little mud made for fun ball searches for my youngster. At times all I could see was her stubby tail wiggling! Wore her out and NO ticks - win win! Be aware there are some mushrooms growing at the barn end. Thanks for sharing your space Kristina!Mandy B.

55The pets absolutely loved the place! It's a perfect time before the grass starts drying up, it was great for them to jump around and play, explore the place. The location is absolutely awesome, nested in the almaden valley. Absolutely recommend the place for folks to try it.Ayyappan A.

55This is my pup and my first Sniffspot experience. Our time at Kristina’s Sniffspot was fantastic! Her place was clean and very spacious, providing the perfect environment for my half husky/half beagle fur baby to run around and play with my friend's two other dogs. After the dogs were tired out, we relaxed in the shaded area near the barn while they enjoyed water and treats. I recommend visiting in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat, as there is limited shade in the play area. Don't forget to bring poop bags, toys, and water. There is a garbage can on site for your convenience. Overall, I would rate Kristina's place a perfect 10/10. Communication with her was smooth and her directions were clear and easy to follow.Angeline M.

55My Aussie's favorite place in the world (besides next to me) is the the beach but Kristina's Winter Dog Park comes in second for sure! Lots of space for them to explore, run, play frisbee and hide and roll around in the tall grass. They had a blast and it was a pleasure watching them playing like pups and zooming all around. They didn't want to leave. Thank you Kristina for giving our fur babies a puperific time!!!Ericka R.

55Great spot! This sniff spot is secluded with two sections for your dog to roam around. One is a large open field that has several gaps along the fence line, however there is a clear visual boundary with fence posts. The other area is smaller and fully enclosed without any gaps. This was the area we used. As it’s spring, we are always on the lookout for those dreaded foxtails. They are definitely on the property in certain areas, but were few and far between and primarily along the fence line and weren’t a concern for us or our dog. Overall a great spot and will definitely be back!Steven N.

55Great space for ball tosses and sniff exploring for my two dogs. Nice green grass and a huge shade tree at the upper end of the property. Be aware it’s not really fenced on two sides. A brief visit from a loose neighbor dog, but he was friendly enough and the owners put him up while we were there. Kristina met us and was very sweet. Mandy B.

55We had a great time exploring this space today! Kristina was so kind and accommodating and made sure we were comfortable. The space itself is not fully fenced as advertised, but I kept my dog on a long leash because he doesn’t have great recall.
Over all the space is very beautiful and has nice serene views. There is soft grass/ground and the ground is moderately slopped. My dog had fun sniffing the barn and the ground! We were both intrigued by the horses next door and had fun observing them.
**Btw, I have a reactive dog so I confirmed with Kristina about whether the neighboring dog would be around and she said that the dog would not be home this weekend. We had no issues with this. **Yasmine J.

55Beautiful property! Well kept, with a convenient little deck (part of the barn). There is a sink and soap, protection from the elements, etc. Really all you could ask for. Lots of space for our handsome boy to run free - easy to get to, and a treat for pawrents as well (sat down and read a book while my pup was doing his thing).
Kristina mentioned that they do plan on completing the fencing around the entire property (which is great), but even as is, I felt quite safe and secure with the current fencing.
The host (Kristina) is incredibly friendly and helpful. She was kind enough to meet us out front to help guide us to the Sniffspot as it was our first visit (thanks Kristina!). Will definitely visit again soon, perhaps with both our pups next time :).Shahryar (Shawn) N.

FAQ about our Pacific Grove dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 97% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Pacific Grove area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 18 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 5 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
