A large, open 1.25 acre fenced in yard with multiple small hills that is bordered on the west side by a public walking trail (with 6 foot fence) and on the north side by Rice Creek (with 5 foot fence). Note that the creek is not directly accessible from the Sniffspot. During the winter months, deer and foxes pass just outside of the fenced in yard, while in warmer months the creek entices additional wildlife as well as the occasional canoeist or kayak. Agility equipment pictured are available during the warmer months and are not available in the winter. There's abundant street parking as we are located at a dead-end. The privacy fence blocks most of the visuals, but it can get a bit noisy with kids playing and planes overhead. There’s a couple neighborhood dogs, a few bark from inside their homes. We have a resident cat who will occasionally snooze in the window sill. ⚠️ the neighbor dog has recently become an escape artist and will wander over from across the street to sniff the green space next to our yard. If your pup is dog reactive, this might not be the spot for you.

Please do not allow pups to dig or to enter the small separately fenced garden. Spring 2024 the yard is very tender with grass trying to recover from last year's drought, if you remember, it helps to throw "fetch" in lots of different directions to spread out the "wear and tear." Added FYI: Same day bookings will probably have the bedtime and morning 💩 from my pups since I routinely only pick up after work during warm months. If you book 24+ hours in advance I can squeeze in an extra poo pickup before work. *WINTER I pick up weekly, weather-permitting, so might not be a great spot for pups who eat poopsicles--you know who you are!

This was my first time with my pup (we've had her for 4 months) doing anything like this. I'm not sure she knew exactly what to do LOL. I do want to make a note that the fence is not 6+ feet at it's lowest point as advertised but am not giving a lower rating for it because it was clear in the photos but I missed it. There is a section in a back corner that appears to be more like 4 feet in height and my dog can jump that so I can't have her free roaming there. I brought a 30 foot lead with me just in case since we were new to doing this and let her sniff around with that and it worked great. I see there are some other questions about seeing or hearing other dogs, animals or people within 50 feet. We didn't but I suppose you could since the home/yard are in a neighborhood with surrounding yards. It's pretty private though.

Very large yard that's great for a big dog to play fetch in. Lots of different smells and also a designated area of taller grass for dogs who like to forage. Please be vigilant of the host's kitty who may be in the yard, especially if you have a non cat friendly dog.

Bruce (50 pound pit bull mix who doesn’t like other dogs) had so much fun on our visit. Melissa, the host, knew we were coming for Bruce’s birthday and she left an amazing basket of goodies for him along with a birthday card! So thoughtful. The yard was amazingly quiet and shady! The wooded area had well worn paths that we enjoyed walking through and Bruce loved exploring and playing fetch all around the yard. We only heard barking once toward the back of the property but didn’t see a dog. Our dog didn’t even notice the chickens in the corner of the yard, he heard them but didn’t care to go investigate. The homeowners were home but that didn’t bother us as we all just kept to ourselves. There is a pool with water filled in the yard and lots of balls to play with as well. The homeowners are working on increasing the height of their fence to 6 feet, which will be nice for owners of large “jumpy” dogs in the future. Overall this yard is an amazing place tobring your dog. We will be going back again!

This was our second visit to this spot in the last few weeks! We take our two shepherd mix doggos, and they love running through the yard and trails and all the sniffs! There are always a couple fresh tennis balls and usually a couple treats to take home.. Thanks Melissa! Love having a "new and exciting" space for both doggos to explore and wear themselves out! My three dogs had the best time running around Melissa's amazing backyard! The entire backyard is fenced in, with an awesome mix of grassy yard and wooded areas that made you feel like you were walking through a little forest. Melissa is so sweet and left a goody bag with a dog toy and treats for each pup as well (pictured). This was the perfect solution for my dog Zeus, who is leash and dog reactive with other pups outside his pack. We will absolutely be back to this Sniffspot! Thank you SO much, Melissa!

Melissa's property is wonderful. There's a nice mix of yard and woods to roam. Both of my dogs had a great time. They are somewhat dog-reactive and did spend some time barking at the neighbor's boxer dog, who was in his yard adjacent to the property. But that area can be avoided as needed. My dogs also enjoyed looking at the chickens in their pen! They've never seen chickens before!

This Sniffspot is wonderful! We needn’t have brought any toys or balls because our host provided many, many items for us to use, including agility equipment. The fence is very safe, and the 2 acre space was very private. There is a chicken coop visible to the dogs but with very solid fencing. The terrain is about 3/4 wooded and 1/4 open space. So many features to sniff! Host also provided hot beverages, and individually wrapped dog treats. My 2 dogs, one a very reactive foster, had so much fun and really wore themselves out. We will definitely book a time to come back in near future.
