23 beautiful acres with amazing views of the valley below. Good mix of fields woodlands short and long grass. A small creek runs thru the property. This is a small private homestead, we do have goats, chickens and ducks. Also a flower garden and fruit and nut trees. The front part of the property is fenced, but the rest of the acreage is not. We also have 2 doggy poop stations for you to dispose of all the gifts your pooch may leave behind. At the top of the hill there are 2 Adirondack chairs for you to catch your breath and take in the spectacular view, as well as a seating area in the woods!

Porta Potty for humans. large mowed areas to throw a ball of Frisbee. Large pond with an easy in and out slope into the water for young and senior pups. A small Jon boat with paddle for a pup water tour of the pond. A selection of different size life Jackets for pups and humans. A bulletin board with a sample display of a Blue Green Algae test kit that can be purchased on Amazon’s. An area next to it where guests who do the tests can post the day, time and results for other pup owners to see. An array of pup towels to dry off with and a drying line. A Muddy Paw Spa wash station b4 they get back in the car, multiple large shaded sitting areas. A 10’x 10’ sand filled dig box for the pups who just have a need to dig. A “Tug of War”spring loaded grab bar for pups who like a good tug of war. Multiple pup fresh water dispensers, with bowls for them. Multiple Doggie Poop Depots with poop bag dispensers so for your convenience, no need to carry that around while you explore the 15 acres. ( Fair Warning.. very low tolerance for a guest who does not pick up after their pup) Two wooded trails areas that we have just begun to develop for the wild side areas to explore. A Large professional Obstacle Course with most of the obstacles course pieces seen on U-Tube. Toy stations with a large variety of toys to select from (Please be considerate for the next guest, return them back to the station after use). Porta Potty for humans was hand sanitizer, lime dispenser to process waste and illuminate odor. Two Frisbee Gulf course areas under development. Bring your own disks to play while you pup sniffs,…or rent a back pac of putters, mid range and long range disks from us. Chair and fire pit areas, with a selection of firewood bundles that can be purchased. And more to come at Tail Waggers, (the Disney Land for pups.)

The property is a horse ranch on 25 acres surrounded by private forest. There is a shallow year round creek that is refreshingly cold and also a large pond that your dog can swim in. There are hiking trails that start at the edge of the property. The trails are mostly uphill. The outdoor and indoor arenas are available for an extra fee. They are mostly dog proof for large dogs but not escape proof for small dogs. The horses wander around the property early in the morning so if your dog chases horses it should be kept on a leash around the horses. I recommend that I show you around your first time out here. To get here you must be prepared to drive down 5 miles of gravel road. There is a gate to get into the property. The gate code will be sent to you with the welcoming message. Cell phone signals are weak once you get on the gravel so check the pre-visit message sent two hours before the appointment before you get out of cell service.

Several trails, a shallow creek, and partially wooded. Main loop trail (Rogue Loop) is 0.56 miles in length. The rest of the trails add another 1/2 mile. Access to hose and bowl for fresh water and rinsing off muddy feet (not available when temperatures are below freezing). WiFi available (rogue ranch guest) at the front of property, and cell service throughout. Property can be muddy if it has been/is raining. Recommend boots for humans. Recommend strong recall for dogs visiting or long lead. Bring towels to clean/dry dog feet. Please pick up after your pet and dispense in one of the three waste containers along the trails. Oh My Dog!!! This place is amazing! 😍 Seriously, we spent an hour and it was not enough time. It’s like a private place to hike with all sorts of goodies! The creek was awesome the trails were great. Do wear boots & expect your dog to get muddy. They even have a hose to rinse off at the end. We didn’t use it since we had to get somewhere else. The dogs had so much fun! The people got exercise too climbing the back hill. It took us 45 minutes to get there from SW PDX - TOTALLY WORTH IT! We can’t sit to go back for a longer visit!

This is a great property with trails, wooded areas and a creek. We could hear another dog barking next door but didn’t see it. There are cows in the field next door which our dog wasn’t bothered by at all. Christina was so kind, very accommodating of my messages prior and during visit, has also generously provided a hose pipe for use which was great to hose down paws after muddy trails, it’s winter in Oregon - mud to be expected :) Overall we really enjoyed it and hope to come back.

2nd visit, as wonderful as the first. Our dog loves it here - gets to run and enjoy water. Boots are a must but it’s Oregon in winter, so mud is to be expected, there’s a hose generously provided to hose off muddy paws before you get back in car. We look forward to coming back.

Second time visiting in one week - that’s how awesome this sniff spot is to me & my dogs! Yes, it’s 45 minutes from SW Portland and YES it’s worth it. Once again I regret not booking for more than an hour, but schedules wouldn’t allow. Today was actually less muddy than last time but I still was glad I had high boots and the white dog in a jacket with belly coverage. The map was new & awesome. The downed tree made a fun jump for the dogs. We’ll be back soon!

Wonderful experience! Clear instructions, maps provided, tote of balls, towels, etc for your use. Also a hose for rinsing off pups and for drinking water. My dog loves to play in the woods and walk with me so this was a great sniff spot! Christina is very responsive and has a beautiful place for your pups to play! What an amazing sniffspot experience! So many trails and things to explore for humans and dogs! You can truly get away out here with no distractions. We love to hike and this felt just like a hike out in the forest with out the anxiety of other people or dogs around. Perfect place for all dogs to get their zoomies and sniffs out. The most amazing sniff spot ever!!! My dog loves being off leash in nature, but not around other dogs or people or other stimulating stuff in general. Lovely Sniffspot. Our two canine adventurers enjoyed lots of sniffing, fetching, exploring and successful socialization to horses in neighboring, fenced paddocks. We didn't hear or see any other dogs, but we did see a gargantuan metal sasquatch objet d'art, which provided another fun socialization experience for all of us! I'd recommend this spot for sure.

This was by far the BEST spot we have ever been to. There was so much land for us to cover & let my dog roam off leash. It’s great especially for those dogs who are still working on training. There was a lovely little stream that my dog enjoyed walking through several times. The maps, water bowl & hose were great to have! They also have a bucket of toys you can use if you would like while you attend their spot. We will absolutely be back again!

While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?

Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
