55Melody had an AMAZING time! It was such a blessing to go for a walk on trails and not worry about any off leash dogs running up to us! She can be free and have fun! They had a beautiful spot for us to sit and anything we might need there as well!Kendra D.

55This place is great - the trails through the meadow are nicely cut and wide. You always know where you are in relation to the house which is nice. There’s a beautiful little spot with chairs and a table and water for the dog. The space was rural enough that I wasn’t worried about my dog seeing another dog or people in the areas there wasn’t a fence. Super nice area for a reactive dog.Katherine G.

55Great relaxing windy trails! Perfect for a dog who is dog aggressive and needs special accommodations. Lots of open space for pups to run, very well kept. Michael was very kind and easy to communicate with.
Only thing I have to note is there is some barbed wire fencing if your dog is an explorer (like mine) they may not see the fence and run right into it-ouch! Besides that it was amazing, still giving it 5 stars and we will be back!Hannah G.

55A very pleasant spot with wide trails bordered by tall grass. A little cove with bottled water—nice touch. We backtracked a few times but it was a beautiful day and our dogs loved their off leash time so much. It’s close by too! Thank you for hosting. Joyce I.

55We had a great experience. Our pups loved the openness of the field and trails. There was some barbed wire, which was easily avoided. Loved the trail for us to walk and tall grass for the pups to run through. Erin M.

55I recently took my three dogs to a Sniffspot location, and it was an amazing experience for all of us! The trails were quiet and well-groomed, providing a perfect environment for my dogs to explore and enjoy. The owner was very easy to reach and communicate with, making the entire process smooth and hassle-free.
If you're planning your first visit, I highly recommend wearing bug spray with tick repellent, as the spot is in the countryside with tall grasses, and the ticks are particularly bad this year. Overall, it was a fantastic outing, and my dogs had a blast. We will definitely be returning!Logan P.

55Such a great spot for my dogs!!! So much room to run, lots of fun toys, very secure and tall fencing, so my dogs couldn’t see other dogs or try to escape. We appreciated the water bowl and should have taken advantage of the little bathtub. We loved it! Will definitely return. Karen G.

55Really nice backyard that is well kept. Lots of smells and instructions were easy to follow. My dog really enjoyed it and they also had some nice seating to sit and watch your dog. They also provided a water bowl. You do have to carry your dog waste out but that’s no bid deal. Emily B.

FAQ about our Shelbyville dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 96% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Shelbyville area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 86 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 18 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
