CASHLESS sales at the store please. Malaney Creek Farm is a 124 acre conservation farm comprised of fields, forest and wetlands. 3+ miles of private trails, open grassy fields. Trails are marked to keep you pointed in the right direction. Picnic tables, covered areas to duck out of the weather and portable restroom with hand sanitizer. Your sniffspot staging area is located in what we call our "Cascara" campsite. Covered picnic table, adirondack chairs, firepit and a big green grassy field. This spot is a central location near the portable restroom, easy drive in access, and a base location for exploring the trail network. Our trail system has been a labor of love. We enjoy providing unique experiences and highlighting the natural beauty of the forest and wetlands on the property. Once home to giant cedar trees the property was purchased by the Great Northern Railway in the late 1800's. A railroad system was built here and the giant cedars logged and milled onsite. You wouldn't be able to tell that now as the forest is doing a wonderful job of repairing itself. We do have a few artifacts scattered about that have been found that you will see on your walks. A large concrete trestle base, railway beams, rail spikes and misc metal items from the trains and equipment. Most of our trails accommodate hiking and mountain bikes (yes E-bikes are allowed ;), however the hiking only trails are really evolving. Our new wetlands trail is a quick link between Casacara and the Beargrass island trail. It is foot traffic only and features hand hewn cedar bridges made from cedar logs left behind by the logging operation over 100 years ago! Log rounds to hop across wet areas and places to stop and soak in the quiet. There is a diverse landscape of rare native plants on this hike and foraging opportunities abound! Fiddle head ferns, chicken of the woods and more! Our most prized flora is a large patch of Labrador Tea. A very rare species of plant related to the rhododendron that native american peoples used as a medicinal healing tea. So come out and explore! Bring appropriate footwear, your furry hiking buddies, a bottled water, and a camera. We look forward to hosting you! We offer five acres of partially mowed fields and a natural wooded area. There is a small pond and access to South Prairie Creek. The creek has a variable current, so it may be best for larger dogs. The pond would be ideal for smaller dogs who aren't strong swimmers. Trails began as deer/elk trails but have been improved. There are some small logs and rocks here and there to step over so sturdy shoes are recommended. The leaves that cover the trails in the fall may be a little slippery, so take care.

I would give this place 5++++ stars if I could! LITERALLY A DREAM COME TRUE! We took BOTH of our dogs, and our little human, to this Sniffspot and would definitely come back! Our very reactive Rhodesian Mix had the time of her life running around this amazing location, with the trees, sniffs, and sounds! Our golden LOVED the wetlands and dove right in, as did our toddler. This place is SO well taken care of, maintained, and safe. Definitely will be coming back! What a TREAT!

We’ve been waiting forever for the Sniffspot to open again!! We spent a magical 2 hours with our 7 year old GoldenBoy and 6 year old Rhodesian Mix girl and 4 year old humans. So many sniffs for the dogs and trails too!! Make sure to bring mud boots for some portions of the trail!

Such a beautiful property with so much room to run and explore! Host was super responsive and patient when we had navigational challenges in the beginning 😄. You start at the first campsite after passing the house and there’s a map in the box on the picnic table there to help guide you. Waterproof hiking boots were a good choice to enjoy both the woodland trails and the ones through the wetlands. We didn’t have any issues with ticks or mosquitoes. There’s a great little swimming hole off the creek where one of my dogs actually swam for the first time! There are also some very sweet and social horses in that area behind a fence who came up to say hi. A gravel road does pass close to a few of the trails so use caution if your dogs don’t have good car sense or good recall. Cars drive slow and you can hear them coming from pretty far away so we felt perfectly comfortable. There is so much to see and do. We got our 10k steps in and the dogs are happily exhausted. There is no other Sniffspot like this in the area. We will definitely be back!

My pup had a blast exploring the small hiking only trails and while forested, there's enough wide open meadows to play a game of fetch. We'll definitely be back!

We had so much fun coming here for an adventure. Indy and Bailey loved exploring and there were a good amount of options for trails to try, we did them all! A map of the trails was provided at the starting point. We encountered some deer who were a bit curious about us. Very cool to see them before they went on their way. I recommend bringing lots of water and a bowl for your dog, as well as a towel or pet wipes. And that you wear shoes that can be covered in mud. My feet were sunk into mud up to the ankle at some points. I had on hiking boots so it was fine. And who doesn't love some good mud? Be prepared for some bugs. Bug spray was provided at the starting point. A porta potty was there as well. Good spots of shade with the sunshine. The property is beautiful and it was a lovely day to explore. Indy, Bailey and I highly recommend you go have an adventure here!

Would give even more stars if I could! We’ve been to many sniff spots with our reactive girl, and while all have been great this one blew it out of the park! Me and my dog love to get lost in the woods, but it can be difficult to find good places to do so where we won’t be on guard that we will run into other people or their dogs. This place was a dream come true with seemingly endless paths to explore and foliage to sniff. It also offered the perfect environment to work on some recall when she would run ahead on trail. My only complaint is with myself, in that I should have booked more than an hour for us to explore! Will definitely be back and cannot recommend highly enough!

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?

Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
