For canine hydration, two four-gallon gravity water dispensers filled with fresh, cold well water will be set out on either side of the field before your arrival. And just in case the unexpected happens, there is a pet first aid kit in the Headquarters. Secure & Picturesque Landscape: Our 4-foot tall welded wire fencing and gate provide a secure environment, even for small dogs. While digging is welcome, we kindly request that pups avoid digging near the fence line to maintain its integrity for all visitors. The Haven boasts a natural landscape with some uneven ground (please exercise caution) and grass maintained at 2-3 inches. There are no nighttime lights, so please plan accordingly. The property is surrounded by forest on three sides, while the remaining side offers scenic views of an adjacent field that should be enjoyed only as part of the view. Embracing Nature & Neighbors: You’ll often see local wildlife such as deer, squirrels, rabbits, turkeys, turtles, and various birds. Our own dogs will be indoors during your visit, but our neighbors are accustomed to our vocal pups and some have their own who may "chat back" if your dogs are talkative! Beautiful scenic spot just outside of Staunton! This mostly level space offers lots of options for your fur family. An acre of fully fenced in yard, an additional acre of open field (fenced on 2 sides only) with large trees, and a shallow river access that’s great for swimming and playing! The fenced in portion of yard also has kids play equipment available, rocking chairs, and a porch swing. A small picnic table with umbrella is also available for use. We do have neighbors, but because we sit further back than other houses, our yard offers a lot of privacy with woods and a field surrounding us. I have 6 acres directly on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River. Great spot for small mouth fishing.
